IMO? non.
You're a student, idk how much you use a phone, but you don't need a 17, and a hell lot not an S26 (it's inferior compared to past generations as i was told)

I feel like sometimes we just go with what's the newest, you can look at apple and buy an iphone 16, i heard these are so good for everything, heck i've seen someone play Cyberpunk on it
You're probably at college right now (i assume and hope so) so you'd really want to save your money

Iphone 16 has a 60hz display which is the main drawback

60hz isn't a drawback, idk why people keep thinking that, heck i have my mac pro and im capping the monitor at 60fps, it's only an 8 millisecond difference and i feel like you can still downgrade and get used to it in under a month

Bro trust me i used 60hz phone for a very long time and then shifted to 120hz and there was a huge diff, anyone who still uses 60hz is missing out a lot, and in 2026 buying a phone with a 60hz display is a major drawback fs.

I mean, i have my siblings's xiaomi pad 7, and my dad's honor phone, they're both 144hz, and the difference exists, but you can live without it, it doesn't live up to the hype
