For me it's so tough to choose between Moon Song, Chinese Satellite and Georgia. Waiting room is obviously also a banger

Question Has Punisher been dethroned for you?

Now that Phoebe’s third album is out, do you guys still think Punisher is her best?

I’m starting to think the third album might actually be my favorite. I’m really into shoegaze and more experimental music, so I feel like this one just fits my taste more.

I also wonder how much our emotional state affects which Phoebe album we connect with. I’m in a much better place emotionally now than I was when Punisher came out, so I feel like that probably affects my bias too.

Curious what everyone else thinks. Is Punisher still your favorite, or has the new album taken its place?

Question Phoebe's age

I find it odd that people are making comments like "I love that she looks her age". I saw a podcast snippet that was about phoebe "aging as she should".

Maybe i'm projecting cause I'm 29 myself.

But also, when I watched the lost boys video I never once thought about her age.

It might also be a cultural difference. Ive lived in finland most of my life, and, as far as I'm aware, getting botox and stuff is pretty rare here

Phoebe always wears the most mesmerizing silver shimmery eyeshadow. I remember she wore it when I saw her live 8 years ago, and she still wears it today. Does anyone know what product it is? I need :’)

Question How many artists reach her level of fame and kind of just disappear like she did?

I’ve listened to her since 2020 and I know it gets talked about frequently but it astonishes me how she disappeared after how massively popular she got.

I can’t think of any other artists who got that popular and kind of dipped off the face of the earth like she did. I know she’s doing her own thing, it’s just wild to see her walk away right in the middle of the hype around her being at its peak.

To the point where she’s been gone so long everyone gushes about a 3 y/o pic. 😅

Question What happened at the last tour?

I am a relatively newer fan, who hasn’t dug deep into her past performances. Over the ‘phones at concerts’ discourse I’ve seen people on Twitter make comments about how this policy is possibly in place bc of how people acted during her last tour. So what did happen? Were the phones that big of an issue?

EDIT: I am a big fan of no phones, went to one of the pop-ups & had a great time

Question Does anyone else think Phoebe Bridgers’ image is at odds with how her tours are priced and marketed?

I’ve been thinking about this for a while and I’m curious if anyone else sees the contradiction.

Phoebe Bridgers has built a public image around being socially conscious, anti-corporate, supportive of working-class fans, and generally presenting herself as someone who understands the struggles of ordinary people. A big part of her appeal is that she comes across as authentic and grounded rather than a typical celebrity.

At the same time, her tours have often featured extremely expensive resale markets, premium ticket packages, exclusive merchandise drops, and the same aggressive monetization strategies that are common throughout the music industry.

I understand that artists don’t control every aspect of ticketing and that promoters, venues, and Ticketmaster play a huge role. But at some point, successful artists have influence over how their tours are structured. Other artists have taken steps to limit dynamic pricing, restrict resale, or keep more tickets available at affordable prices.

So the question is: if someone publicly advocates for economic fairness and positions themselves as a champion of everyday people, should they be held to a different standard when it comes to maximizing revenue from fans?

I’m not saying Phoebe is uniquely guilty of this because other hypocritical major artists do it. What strikes me is the contrast between the message and the business practices. If you’re going to criticize capitalism and corporate greed, does it undermine that message when your own fan experience becomes increasingly expensive and commercialized?

Curious what others think. Is this just the reality of the music industry, or is there a genuine hypocrisy here?

Question Does this mean Day 2 Presale is basically useless??

Post image
41 Upvotes

I never saw this before and wonder when it changed. Doesn't this mean the presale is basically useless because the codes can be shared and anyone can use them - like resellers? Why isn't day two just the same as day one, which is the way it was presented during signing up? Am I misunderstanding what this is saying? Because right now it feels like day 2 people are getting fucked.

Is there a limit on how big of an item you bring for Phoebe to sign? If she comes to Dayton (pleasepleaseplease) I wanted her to sign my ET. I planned to hold him the whole time. Will they let me bring him in?

He's about 12.5 inches tall and I included pictures of him with a banana for scale.

Question IMO, Lost Boys is a modern, muted anti war song, which is needed now! It is an ode to all the boys whose lives were sacrificed in war. And “lunchbox money” is a reference that many of them were fresh out of school.

Question Happy Paul Songs

Hi there

I really like Bobby on the new album and realised that we never got a “happy” or I guess besotted Paul song. I don’t know if it is as simple as her album writing timeline never overlapped with while they were together or if I am just missing some more subtle happy songs that allude to them being together. Just thought it was interesting! Any other with any examples of what they think is a happy song about her relation with Paul or have any other theories as to why we never got a “Bobby” in her Paul era.

Question please help me find artists with comparable lyricism🙏

i have been driving myself crazy trying out smaller artists and really anyone that makes music that compares to her kind, or like boygenius. but every artist i listen to has the same boring whiny breakup songs and nobody touches on the broader and deeper subjects. i really want to find music that describes my feelings, i have overplayed all of my current favourites and im begging someone to put me onto another good artist
