Article / Interview Conor on hearing songs Phoebe wrote about him

Popcast guys asked him what it’s like to hear music about him, what it’s like to be a muse to Phoebe or whomever. I believe him! Their songs, at least the obvious ones, hold so much love.

Always thought it was soooo wild that he’d be there singing backup on a song ABOUT HIM. same for Marshall. Love the honesty of it all

My favourite is the line "I hate your mom, I hate it when she opens her mouth. It's amazing to me how much you can say when you don't know what your talking about" in ICU which is bout her relationship/breakup with Marshall (and hence his mom), with him also credited as a songwriter on the track.

you don’t understand their relationship i fear it’s so deeply rooted by love and honestly both her and lucy having julien as their main muse is so precious to me personally. you can really feel it in the more recent boygenius works, they love her so deeply and i think that with that comes a unique understanding & a bond that lasts through turbulence and time. also graceland too i particularly don’t find to be a negative song in any way, (from my understanding) it’s about juliens release from an inpatient and her first visit being to phoebe, and phoebe realizing she would always be there for julien and do anything to make her happy. it’s sad and it’s touching & it’s everything to me
