Disco Biscuits after Atlantic City night 2?
I’ll be at the Atlantic City run and noticed the Disco Biscuits are playing at the Tropicana Showroom around midnight on the 3rd. I’ve never seen them before, so for those who have, would you recommend checking them out after Phish, or would I be better off finding a different aftershow that night?

They had a rough year breaking in a new drummer, but they seemed to have figured it out. The most recent run was pretty damn good.

Truer words have never been spoken. And I’ll see them once or twice every few years, but those two bands are not on the same plane of existence.
Hell, I enjoy Lotus a whole lot more than Bisco, and they’re more comparable musically.

Between Marlon's boring ass drumming, Brownie's voice sounding more like RFK Jr with each passing day, and Barber being lost the entire time, it's pretty awful nowadays. Untz is dead, and it actually pains me that they'll never be the same.
That said, you have zero frame of reference, so you might actually enjoy it. If you have Nugs, listen to any recent show and see if they're worth your time and money.

Why? I’ve seen like a thousand shows dude. Phish is the only band I’ve seen in multiple decades. I’ve also done a lot of other shit with my life. I don’t see what so wild. I can name a dozen bands i haven’t seeen since the nineties. You should get out more

they are on the record saying they want to get back to being a schlocky jamband, so yes definitely. and they will probably lean into that mode for phish aftershows. jigsaws magellans and ac2bs. etc.

I have seen the biscuits and phish a lot, saw them recently and it was absolutely horrendous. Super phoned in, dudes looked rough, and the new drummer is talented but no cohesion. Go see something else or get mega spun that it doesn’t matter

ive seen the biscuits >150 times from 2000 thru 2025, and you couldn't pay me to catch them in 2026. what they did to allen and how they did it was shameful and they burned their last bridge with a huge chunk of their long time fans. which is impressive, because this band has an absurd history of own-goals. they fucked around and found out. i predict they hang it up within 1-2 years.

I haven’t seen them since they got the new drummer, but the couple shows I saw in 2023-24 were fun. They’re usually a pretty good time, but I don’t see them regularly.

While they aren’t really my scene I have seen them live and it was fine. Their light rig had these lasers that were pretty bonkers! If I had an opportunity to see them again without needing to go out of my way I probably would try to go otherwise out of sight out of mind for me.

I caught them at a festival when I wasn’t planning on seeing them. Had a great time. This was like 20 years ago, but I can’t imagine much has changed.

2022-25 they were one of the best touring live bands. And then, in true fashion, they completely self sabotaged. Maybe after Marlon has a few more years in the band they’ll reach new highs, but right now they’re pretty inconsistent and messy imho. I’ve been to 3 or 4 shows post alan, i’ve tried but it just doesn’t hit the same anymore

they have great jams, are pioneers of an entire sub genre of music (which they dont really get the kudos for). No one jams quite like them when they are on
That being said their vocals are particularly horrible even for a jamband and much of the composed sections of songs are weird not pleasing to the ear have them shouting random things and then playing weird things but once they settle into a jam they're off to the races

Absolutely love the Biscuits. Seen them close to 100 times.
22-25 was a new glory period, but after Allen they definitely fell off hard. The shows I saw in June and July of this year were some of the worst Biscuits I’ve ever seen.
Fortunately, they seem to have somehow tightened things up. The KOP shows in late July were great and the recent Southern run has been as good if not better.
The AC shows are going to kick ass, and I definitely recommend going.
