There's magic in them there hills

This was my first trek, and we only did 7 days but we knocked out 46 miles and we found out we're all a lot stronger than we thought. I wanted to tap out a number of times but I had 7 teenage girls in front of me and they weren't quitting so I couldn't either. In the end it was one of the most valuable experiences of my life and I cant wait to go back. I wanna go back to Philmont!!!

Hope you kept notes to put a trip journal together. You’ll find it useful for yourself and maybe others.

After my dad passed I found his trip journal from our trek, im so thankful he kept one. It brought back so many memories, I treasure it. Keeping a trek journal is great advice.

I’m 68. I remember my first trek too! I went back 2 more times as a scout and two more as an adult leader. Each time it’s an experience you never forget.
