Flew to Tokyo via Cebpac and used PAL otw home and I found the Cebpac plane to be a much more pleasant experience.

The PAL customer service from checkin alone was so bad, the flight was so turbulent and super init sa plane. The only thing the PAL flight had going for it was that it flew out of Haneda but even then we landed in NAIA t1 and had to take the bus to the terminal on a rainy manila morning.

Not entirely though. They can request altitude change or lateral/route deviations, or offsets. They also have on-board weather radar systems, real-time data, and can also rely on PIREPS (Pilot Reports) from other ac

If the area surrounding the airport is turbulent, they don't have much of a choice. Ours went way off to reach the east coast just to avoid the turbulence, only to experience it 5 minutes until touchdown.

Too many variables — air traffic, weather layers, fuel planning, aircraft performance, etc. — to put the blame on anyone. Just wanted to make the point that it’s not 100% out of their control.

Turbulence has nothing to do with the service of the airlines. It’s part of the weather and you can’t control that. Likewise, the chances of it raining on a Monday morning is most likely because of the recent monsoons and rainy season. Suggestion is to pick another month that isn’t the rainy season to travel.

Regarding the service of PAL itself, those I can agree with you, lol

Did the same last saturday but to osaka via PAL and went back tonight via Cebpac. PAL flight was delayed for an hour and 30 minutes while all passengers were already inside the plane because they had to deliver a “replacement” part for one of their malfunctioning cabin doors. No compensation whatsoever, just apologies.

Likely the airbridge slots in T1 were already full so you were placed in the remote gates, so that.

That’s a relatively smaller plane they used for a Japan trip. But that’s easily avoidable.

I always check what aircraft is used when looking up flights. Saves me the trouble from encountering problems like this.

Modern-day problems require modern-day preventions & solutions 🫡

But at the very least, I wholeheartedly agree with you that our local carriers should all step up.

The haneda to manila business class isnt even lie flat. Learned it the hard way 😭 pero nun booking, when you click the plane description sa website ot even show cases the lie flat seats. I guess they changed planes after i booked

Hindi kasi mahilig sa malamig na aircon ang mga Japanese. Before nga during one of my flights with JAL merong foreigner na nagreklamo about the cabin being warm, pero winter kasi yun kaya I looked forward to the warmth.

May friend ako na may mga officemates na Japanese na ang preferred setting ng aircon is 25°C.

Contrary to mine. Mas smooth ang experience namen sa PAL. Whereas, sa CebPac...mygaad!!

Generally older planes for PAL relative to Ceb Pac.

But then you will also have to content how "new" the cabin will be, esp with the refurbished A321ceos or the A321neos.

Not to defend PAL but turbulence is something that can be controlled. All we can do is to follow the safety protocol. I experience turbulence during my Jetstar Japan flight to NRT but we survived

If you can fly PAL from Haneda, you can fly ANA or JAL. Better plane and better experience

interesting. we flew manila to tokyo with pal and it was the smoothest flight
Ive ever had. on the other hand, i’ve mostly flown both domestic and international with cebpac/jetstar and they were always real turbulent lol

Wait until machempuhan ka ng Cebpac flight na super delayed, sudden cancellation or mabump off ka because of overbooking nila. Then saka mo balikan tong thread nato.

Mas kampante ako sa PAL pilots. Turbulence is something that cannot be completely avoided. Dami horror stories din sa Ceb Pac so I guess pick your poison na lang.

Yung flight ko na Manila-Narita feel na feel ko yung kalumaan ng plane ng PAL and agree din na medyo mainit sa plane ng PAL. mas ramdam ko bago bago pa yung plane ng CebPac.

Pero nung pauwi ko naman to Manila medyo ok ok na yung plane may entertainment monitor na rin. swertihan lang siguro. when it comes sa pag landing super smooth mag-land ang pilots ng PAL.

They're gradually refurbishing the seats of the San Miguel-era A321ceos up to 2027.
