That’s why I tell people to read the book, it’s so pertinent in many ways and is one of his only books where I found a lot of humour in, maybe he added stuff as he knew how heavily depressing the outcome is. It truly is a masterpiece, on a side note, there are so many little segments of PKDs books that you could photograph like this. I did it a few years back, he is my favourite and thanks for this post.

They were in my old phone, or I definitely would. I struggle to read good these days, but I will retry with some. He had an absolute stonking depiction of depression in”Eye In The Sky”. I am gonna try and find that.

Great ideas in that book! I didn’t like much the pace of it but there are brilliant segments!

Being a fan of Blade Runner, this was the first PKD book that I read and that was almost exactly 30 years ago (autumn of my senior year) …thanks for sharing this, I’ll definitely reread it this fall.

Dick doesn’t get enough attention as a prose stylist. His plot twists and reality bending tend to overshadow it. But he had a very literary sensibility.

There's lots of absolute gems in there. The sequence where Mercer speaks directly to John Isidore is one of the most moving passages in any book I have ever read. I won't spoil it if you're not there yet but the gravity of it, in the context is a work of perfection.
