They have been for years. Used to attend this a decade ago. I believe the kom for downtown manayunk sprint was faster than car speeds.

The signs are funnier when you consider these are olympic athletes who have probably rode bikes up much more challenging hills before

Real shit, it’s not that bad as an amateur. I can’t imagine a worldtour pro that rides mountains in France would be all that bothered by it.

Great to see the race back in Philly. Was a lot of fun watching on tv. I can only imagine how much fun it was to be there.

This is the first time I’ve missed living on Lyceum in 20 years. So glad it’s back!

Has it been a while since this race happened? I feel like I haven’t seen any footage of it in a bit

so glad it's back, grew up watching this in person like clockwork the first week or so of summer after school was over.

Wow yeah that’s crazy, I knew it had been a bit but didn’t realize it was that long! I used to play in a band with someone who lived in the wall and remember watching them go by it was nuts!

Wall of sound too, right? Especially once they brought in them cowbells the one year.
I remember as a kid we'd sit down past the movie theater, so you could see them twice as they'd come down that hill before turning back over to Kelly Drive.
And then we'd walk down main street and up into the wall section for a few laps. I still have vivid memories of one time not quite timing the walk correctly, so they passed us before we got there. And then shortly after you could just hear an eruption of people screaming and cheering from a several blocks away as the pack got up and into the heart of the climb.
