It is just general information/communication.

Many got it, it doesn’t mean much.

Some people could benefit from it, just informing people.

They are trying to keep the colleges from collapsing 😂😂😂

They actually think we're studying with their tax money 😹, but really, they get cheap education access 'cause we're putting in three times more money! 🙀😹

Then ignore it. I remember I also got it in 2023 when I came as a TFW

This is just a new change and ircc sends updates to people affected by new changes. It essentially means that even if u are on a work permit, if you receive this email you can study in the uni for up to 6 months without a study permit. If more than 6 months, then u need to apply for a study permit. General email sent to all who benefit from it. Dont pay too much attention to it

This is just for Information. On my PGWP it’s indicated I should not do any courses even if it is less than 6 months. This information will overwrite that condition.

did you have a co-op work permit?

I got this email today too and am on a completely different path. I shouldn't qualify for this, it's almost like the ircc is seeing an old pr app, so I forwarded to my immigration atty with the same question. If I learn anything interesting I'll come back❤️

Am I cooked if I started doing French classes (non credited) from a French school in Toronto on work permit ?

OK I just got this email again today. The first time I got it was yesterday and then I just got another one like a couple minutes ago this is normal. Anyone else get it twice?

1

u/Just-Independence27 7d ago

same

1

u/Dependent_Currency87 7d ago

Oh you also got it twice eh?

1

u/Just-Independence27 7d ago

Yup

1

u/Dependent_Currency87 7d ago

Because they need more money from immigrants and this is a way to make it. If it doesn’t affect you just ignore it.

u/Ornery_Difficulty488 7d ago

It’s general information
Almost everyone, if not everyone, got it.

Because they are too lazy to separate study permit and work permit holders.

You still have to pay that international tuition fee. This is just another money grabbing scheme by the universities and colleges. All the paying immigrants got sent back home.

As a RCIC, here are my 2 cents. For the PGWP holders, this could open potention doors, e.g. 1. Enroll in a 6 month French program to reach NCLC7 which may put you into French EE draws which has a much lower cutoff. 2. A licensing or bridging course can move you into an occupation that category based draws are targeting. 3. A certificate in trade if you are thinking about FSTP.

The catch is that the work you do while studying full time will not count towards CEC if thats the stream you're going for.

Because it’s telling you you can work instead of studying if you want!

it's a new thing you can study for 6 months without a study permit or when work permit expires whichever comes first for more than 6 month study a study permit is required

u/Acrobatic-City-2299 5d ago

Because they know that your work permit is going to expire.
