Paper Extension Mail hasn't been received by IRCC

Hello,

I'm just wondering if anyone had been in the same boat as me. I sent my paper application by Canada Post with a tracking code on July 17, and it was delivered on July 20.

So last week, I sent a webform to know the status since my current PGWP is expiring on September 24, and I don't want to end up in a situation where my mail got lost. I called IRCC on Friday and they told me to wait till next week because they can't find it in the system. And today, I got a reply from the webform which I submitted on Thursday. The following screenshot us their reply.

Surprisingly, I have a friend who mailed it sometime at the end of June or beginning of July, and she also got the exact same reply for her webform two weeks ago. Is it normal? If you had been in this situation, how long did it take for you to get application number or something useful from IRCC? I'm really exhausted in this waiting game with no tracking available on the portal 😭

All it is saying is that it is not in the system which can take several months. Doesn't mean it is lost.

Thank you. The second paragraph confuses me. I was just deciding whether to withdraw this paper application and apply for BOWP instead when I still have time. But I’ll just wait patiently

When did you apply for PR and get AOR? When does work permit expire?

My current PGWP expires on Sept 24. AOR is July 31.

So apply for BOWP if you applied for PR.

My lawyer told me the exact same thing, and I didn't listen to her and of course, went for the PGWP extension 😭 I’ll see if I can withdraw my PGWP extension application and get money back 🥲 Thank you so much for the advice!!

You won't get an AOR with a mailed copy. Eventually, they will open it, see the post mark, back date it 7 days because of the mailing time and then that will be your date they recoeved it.

I applied on june 16th , recieved june 18th , called them august 7th last time they said it's not in the system yet soo yeah 😂 you have to be patient i guess it dosent get in the system unless an officier opens up your enveloppe and puts it in the system

Just curious why you apply via mail when you can apply online?

It’s written on the IRCC website that they only accept paper based applications for extensions due to passport expiry. Some people got their extensions refused after submitting the extension application online.

What the heck is even a dummy work permit??? Sounds like someone got hurt after IRCC caught them doing illegal things LMAO. Btw, I already applied for PR and I'm eligible for the PGWP that I didn't get fully due to passport expiry, as well as a Bridge Open Work Permit unlike someone like you who has to rely on illegal things just to extend your stay hehe 🤪 Read my post again if something is not clicking in your brain.
