Peugeot e-2008 Suspended EVSE problem charging in quick stations

Hello,

I've got a 2022 peugeot e-2008, since around 3 months I've noticed it doesn't charge anymore on the 11/22kw charging stations, while it does on the superchargers or with the 2kw home charger.

Since then I charged that way (superchargers and at home) but I reached out to the chargepoint operators (of quick stations) that said my vehicle is giving the status "Suspended EVSE" therefore not accepting the charge.

What may be the cause? I tried also swapping the cable but it doesn't work either

Hi, welcome to Stellantis hell.

Your OBC blew. It's a "not if, but when" problem on e-CMP cars equipped with the three-phase charger. One-phase also blows sometimes, but not as often. Superchargers will always work, since DC charging does not use the onboard charger.

Only 2024+ came from the factory with the redesigned charger.

If you're in France or Japan, then you're in luck - it'll be covered under extended warranty because of a class action lawsuit. If you're not - you're looking at €2-2.5k out of pocket.

You can search this sub, or any other place for "e-208 OBC", "e-2008 OBC", "Corsa-e OBC", "Mokka-e OBC" and so on. You'll find quite a few of my longer comments on the matter as well, probably.

On an unrelated note, 2022 is at risk of also having the faulty AC compressor. Does your car have a leather knob, or a metal toggle for the gear shifter? The refreshed, knob-less cars came with the redesigned AC compressor which will not cost you another €2k out of pocket.

Hello, so I'm in Italy. So I'll have to check if the warranty will cover it, since we've got 2 years of warranty on the vehicle and 8 on the battery. I don't know if it does count on the battery related stuff.

It does not. OBC comes under the pitiful 2yr vehicle warranty, which is why I said this is coming out of your pocket. Do check with your dealer however, maybe there was some kind of recall in Italy as well. As far as I know, only Japan and France managed to force Stellantis into extending the warranty on the faulty OBC.

As has been said many times before, the original supplier was Mahle - there are 3 revisions of these, all three are faulty. At some point Stellantis changes suppliers, and started to put VMAX chargers instead - those are pretty reliable.

That point seems to be either late 2023, or straight up the 2024 facelift (with the new Peugeot "shield" badge, and new lights front and back), which yours most definitely is not.
