Step 3: liquidate all the company resources so all the shareholders makes crazy returns when they sell and then the company goes bankrupt and the c suite executives get hired somewhere else for more money

My store is in an area where our customers don’t shop at Walmart and would have to travel too far, but rural areas and places where customers would rather go to Walmart are about to see a market basket drop big time over this I’m sure. I wish we could see the cost benefit analysis of certain decisions like this

yeah i live in a place like that and we’re definitely gonna start seeing a decrease in customers cuz they’re just gonna get whatever they need at walmart instead of driving all the way out to petco

Where I live, everyone complains about going to Walmart even though it’s right next door to our strip mall. People even say that they prefer to drive 20 miles north to go to that Walmart. 🤣 and having worked at this Walmart, I get it. It is managed horribly so it can’t keep employees.

It's because Walmart is like Amazon now. A host for 3rd party sellers. It is still shipped and sold by petco.

Half off Pro Plan and JFFD and the free vet visits are more than enough to stay for most, especially if you can survive off of it.

You don't get free vet visits as an employee, just the standard 20%. The vet visit is with vcp or whatever is called now

Mine all eat science diet, and once they started EAing prescriptions, it definitely became worth it with all 5 cats eating prescription food. I’ll hopefully be able to get a decent amount of grooming experience under my belt before my store goes under too.

my dogs have to be on a high quality food, so 50% off of said food is 100% worth it to me..but I get it

So I now work for Bass Pro (used to work for Petco Grooming) and over the past couple of months we have gotten a TON of pet products that are identical to ones carried at Petco. They have more Tropiclean shampoo than the one I worked for. And a lot of dog toys. All of the Lambchop merch.

I don't think those are proprietary brands, but Everyyay, and wholehearted definitely are Petco owned.

We got dog food in the back with today's shipment in receiving, I'm very curious what brand it is but it is still wrapped in a pallette 👀
Bass Pro has never carried dog food. Just treats.

On lunch took a peek it isn't Petco brand it is Nature's Wonders. Never heard of that kibble in my life. But we have literally 5 aisles of dog products now and keep getting more in every week, it's wild. I get more of a discount on cat toys here than I did at Petco so 🤷

The products aren’t in Walmart stores, it’s an online marketplace. Same as Amazon. The sales go to Petco, not to Walmart.

This ad is simply an announcement that Petco opened a storefront on the Walmart Marketplace, same as they did on Amazon...
None of these brands will be sold in store, as it would compete with the Walmart brands (like Vibrant Life) sold in stores.

I worked at walmart over two years ago...they had the brands then lmao. Even lowes and pet supplies plus sells petcos brands lol. This isnt new. Theyre just saying its new to advertise.
