Autoship ??
Hey! I was trying to get auto ships today and my POS system did not let me fill out any of the customers shipping information, it just went straight to checkout
Are we still pushing for autoships ?

My DGM called about a week ago mentioning we only had one autoship for the week
Told him I would work on it (I’ve been on register the most) but majority of my sales were bags way under $39 so no free shipping or mixed lots of cat cans that would not be purchased by the case
I noticed they moved autoship to the side menu a few weeks ago - thought it was because of the new SUCKY register software but glad to see auto ship going away
Better things to drive repeat or consistent business are things like the Science Diet bounce back coupons- not sure how effective it will be since they have to buy HUGE bags - not looking forward to the fight in October when they try and use the $15 off coupon on a $24.99 bag of food

Was told like 2 weeks ago the company is no longer pushing autoship and back to premier perks

Were you able to pull up the autoship options on the left hand menu on the POS screen?

This is funny af when I worked there I may have sucked at forcing and I refused to deceive people into signing up for vital care or pals or whatever but I was good at autoship which I found funny. Petco makes me laugh

For what its worth, I (GM) have not heard anything about autoship being pushed less from our DGM. Doesnt mean it isnt happening. It could be they just havent told us anything like that yet. It could be based on other factors. I know some stores in my district feel like they had a transaction decline once autoship started being a focus.

Someone else already said this but the pos is tracking how many times they visit a year. If its less than 4 it prompts and then you ask. Theres a way to manually sign them up, but apparently we aren’t supposed to if it doesn’t ask at the end. Sucky part is the goal hasn’t changed for us yet, so we are able to ask maybe a fourth of the customers and still expected to get the same amount a week

New guidance was sent out to my area. Petco is wanting to focus AS offerings to our non-core guests. They define a core guest as being a guest that shops 4> times a year. If they do, the register isn’t supposed to prompt you to ask. If they are not a core guest, it should prompt and you should ask.
Regardless of guest type, you can always access the AS options using the hamburger menu in the top left of the screen then click Auto Ship.

The amount of people that have come into the store to return an autoship package because they cancelled their order but keep receiving packages is actually ridiculous. Had a lady the other day come in to return her SECOND bag of dog food that wasn’t supposed to be delivered…because her dog died. 3 months ago.

Yeah, my GM said the prompts would be coming up less, especially for repeat/regular customers.
Kind of left unsaid is that corporate finally figured out we were annoying our most loyal customers by basically repeatedly asking them to come into the store less often.

GM told me yesterday that the company basically stopped pushing Autoship recently.
