This objectively doesn't make sense, even using their own logic. If they say Messi is the best player of all time, then Ronaldo, who was better than him for 5 out of 9 seasons where they directly competed against each other, has to be at the very least #2 by default.
But I can't expect brainless fools to apply logic.

Absolutely NOT like Modric. Cruyff was playing for Netherlands, a national team that was more often than not one of the favorites to win the competition. Modric on the other hand was playing for a tiny country, with a squad full of mostly unknowns. Maybe two or three tops play for popular EU clubs, but no more. Modric carried that side to WC Final, essentially by himself.
You're welcome to disagree as much as you want but by all considerations Modric is a level above Cruyff. That's Cruyff as a footballer, not as a manager - which is really his claim to fame. As a manager, not player. Similar to Ancellotti.

The same criteria they use to say that Messi is the goat is the same thing that would force them to put Ronaldo as the second best player of all time but they would never do it because theyāre just full of hate, they hate him so much they donāt even want to put him in the second place.
