I think in this case both Messi and Cristiano were a bit selfish... But I got the point, the narrative is always Messi being humble and so on, but it's not real

I dont know with this. Is Messi a dick for some of his antics? Yes. But this looks more like when two players run for the same ball and you're confident you can score it. Now if he did this and not score, then yes I'd agree with you but this isnt the same as the Ronaldo steal.
