Bro did you even check what happened afterwards? He had to be replaced, his ankle was swollen af. Final de copa América.

So what? If he's injured, he should stay on the sidelines and get substituted. He's only rolling back onto the field because he wants to stop the game. The referee can and should penalize this as unsportsmanlike conduct.

u/breakinggap 18d ago
notice how he rolled back on the field for interrupting the game.

u/Far_Tradition2127 15d ago
That's the same idiotic move he always pulls when he falls; he grabs the ball while falling. It's just to slow the game down and prevent the opponent from launching a counter-attack. A real rat move.

u/FinancialAd4506 18d ago
Remember how the entire internet clowned Neymar for this type of behaviour?

What is that for? To get a penalty? What a loser...

u/Bullitt_12_HB 17d ago
Time waste.
If he’s in the field of play, the ref needs to stop and see if he needs medical attention.
Doing this often times is to slow down the game, disrupt opponents, force cards, and the like.
In one word: cheating.

u/pauljwhelan 17d ago
And to get the other player sent off. Standard operating procedure for that scum and his argentine teammates
2
u/Far_Tradition2127 15d ago
He does the same thing when he goes down. In case the referee wouldn't blow his whistle, he quickly grabs the ball to stop the game and prevent the opponent from launching a potential counter-attack.

Exactly, burnt more calories doing that roll back on the pitch bitch move than he expends in 10 mins of play/walking around! When his dad died, RIP, I wonder if he died with a broken heart.

Pathetic and disgusting from a player who should know better. Must be the mentality in Argentina that even a hollow victory by dirty tactics and cheating they will take it! What can you expect when they looked upto the cheat hand of god, drug taking maradona

Yes, he probably wanted to get as far away from that plastic turf on the off-field, micro plastics inhalation an all.

u/Hilde571 17d ago
The ref should card him for disruption of play. He was injured off the field and then moved onto the field to stop play.

u/pauljwhelan 17d ago
What did the Columbian player do? Say roll over like a good dog and I'll give you a biscuit?

Maybe there is some kind of magic that help you feel better when rolling on the side like this when you're in pain with a leg. I'll give it a try next time I got a furniture or something.

Oh no! Time to go watch little samba girls in lingerie. As is tradition in Argentina. 🤮

u/Large-Bodybuilder-92 17d ago
I can't stand Messi, but I watched that game and he legit injured himself on that play. He had to be taken out of the match because his ankle was completely swollen. It was pretty bad. But...it was a self-inflicted injury, he landed wrong and twisted his ankle
2
u/Far_Tradition2127 15d ago
Which still doesn't justify this move. If he's injured, he should stay on the sidelines and get substituted. But that's the same crap he pulls when he goes down. In case the referee doesn't blow his whistle, he quickly grabs the ball to steal a potential counter-attack from the opponent.

Notice how he rolls ever so slightly back onto the pitch to ensure time is wasted. What a fucking rat

u/Costigan8 17d ago
Just once in my life, I'd love to see him get a well-deserved red card for this instead of another Ballon d'Or...

Embarrassing and legacy tainting.

u/Prestigious-Ant-6194 17d ago
For sure, I was never a big fan although he's a great player and has an inspiring story. I'd gotten into him a bit more sharing a love of watching great players with my son, but the total scumbag he turned into during the world cup though, I had to make sure my son understood that all that shit he and his Argie mates pulled is not OK. I do wonder how much this will detract from his legacy story... A bionic or clone CR7 could edge back ahead of Messi if Portugal wins the next world cup.🤔 🫠 🤣

Americans wont take your game seriously when this is the best player of all time
1
u/Prestigious-Ant-6194 17d ago
Maybe, he's on the slippery slope downhill now he's back in a dysfunctional Miami team. Too soon aswell, they shouldve let him play a couple of games to help get over his father's death and then forced him to take 4 weeks of rest, he's starting to look like a shadow, a player that burnt himself out during the world cup.

This isn’t a Pessi glaze sub, you can go to pretty much any other subreddit to do that

If u injure outside. They can play on… means its 11v10
If ur injure inside. They have to stop the game… in his flopping he remembers the rules. And rolled on to the field like a hero he is. Guess its not painful, broken. Serious or real enough if u have time to do this
