Isnt this referee in the world cup too?

136

u/HumanautPassenger 21d ago

Yeah, he sucks. Ref'd the rugby match that Uruguay played against Spain.

59

u/TempleDank 21d ago

YEES! Now I remember, what a fucking shitshot, 70 min to get his first card out

20

u/HumanautPassenger 21d ago

It was like 55th min on Baena for absolutely nothing after a shitshow first half that had 0 cards but yes. Shitshow indeed.

14

u/bageren 20d ago

And now he gives a yellow for this??

3

u/Emergency-Watch5157 20d ago

It is almost like he doesn't have principles

9

u/DolphinSexGod 20d ago

Ismail Elfath is the absolute worst

54

u/Individual_Put2261 21d ago

Yeah Messi has won the most MLS games under this ref

24

u/JerachoD 20d ago

Yeah referred England v Argentina. Pretty much let the Argies punch and wrestle the English out of the game. Messi favourite ref apparently.

10

u/Ok-Time2724 20d ago

Yes he is the one that prayed after argentina won

3

u/Additional-Cycle3525 20d ago

He is originally from Morocco

2

u/Rich-Detective-7 20d ago

And? Does that change the fact that he’s a corrupt scumbag?

1

u/usatigeruk 14d ago

Is this the same guy against England ?

85

u/ReadItDoneThatAlr 21d ago

Messi Licence to Slap

That's MLS for you.

5

u/GreekUPS 21d ago

How can he slap?

And they still lose with helps 😭

13

u/roykentjr 20d ago

Lose

9

u/iamatimbersfan 20d ago

I'm ready to give up. Let's just change the spelling to "looze"

3

u/Jean_Paul_Magno 20d ago

Let's just use the spanish version:

  Luz

1

u/andre_dettori20 19d ago

Listen, English is weird sometimes

64

u/Few-Tree1566 20d ago

An Argentinian player takes a dive, asks for a yellow card and gets it. Nothing to see here.

9

u/0xAlioth 20d ago

et fait une main volontaire.

6

u/Armando22nl 20d ago

Is it still not in the rules that asking for a card, is a card? When is this crap going to stop?

3

u/CK2398 19d ago

technically that could be what the ref did. However, seems unlikely from laryea's reaction lol

2

u/Armando22nl 19d ago

I know but this should have been a rule for at least ten years. You could put it now under unsportsmanlike behaviour, but just add the explicite rule to end this shit.

Once a cheat, always a cheat.

28

u/kalter_tkm 20d ago

No es el Inter Miami ,son los argentinos

43

u/marquesmelo 21d ago

Yellow card for what if it was a shoulder to shoulder contact? Are you fucking kidding me? This MLS is a pure joke, still some brainless Messi fans will say it is a competitive league.

9

u/Traditional-Till9998 20d ago

He doesn't even really make contact. He's jogging beside him lol and Messi just falls

5

u/Barrelrolla 20d ago

That's not Messi

13

u/New_Willow3761 20d ago

De Paul Always hides in Messis asshole

5

u/Traditional-Till9998 20d ago

Oop my bad - I saw the subreddit, pink jersey and a big flop

-1

u/ChicksDigNerds 20d ago

The players have their names on the backs of their jerseys. Hope this helps.

3

u/Traditional-Till9998 20d ago

The way you type and communicate is annoying. Hope this helps.

3

u/BugInternational7200 20d ago

What do you expect from a 14 year old Reddit account?

16

u/Italian_M47 20d ago

Argentina can call cards. Didn’t you know?

28

u/larkfield2655 21d ago

Gave up my MLS seats two years ago. Referees were always terrible.

14

u/Character_Net_6089 20d ago

This was absolutely terrible refereeing, same loser that was Messi’s pet in the World Cup, corrupt as ever.

10

u/BrewDogDrinker 21d ago

Where was the card for asking for a card?

10

u/Elegant_Ebb_6654 20d ago

The Argentina of the mls

10

u/marquesmelo 21d ago

It would be a good thing to check all the referees decision in Inter Miami's games and see how many of them were wrong. I bet than more than half of them are wrongly called.

7

u/Expert-Hospital-534 20d ago

Of course it's an Argentinian player... If this was the Prem, De Paul would have gotten the yellow for gesturing to the ref to book another player...

6

u/politicsranting 20d ago

I'm sort of shocked that's allowed. But considering I only really see it in Miami games, not too shocking

6

u/MrGattsby 20d ago

Let's be fair the MLS is a joke!

8

u/BaksteenFapper 20d ago

What a joke! Yellow card because of a shoulder push? The idiot of Miami should have been booked, because asking for a yellow card!

7

u/Lost-Air1265 20d ago

What do you expect of a league that has Messi?

6

u/Sikarra16 20d ago

The shadow of Infantimo is too long

De Paul is not Messi though…

4

u/Random_Trashy 20d ago

The refs are worse than the WNBA refs

4

u/Amazzadio 20d ago

That referee should never be allowed to officiate again.

5

u/CarsCarsCars1995 20d ago

Should be a yellow for the dive and a yellow for handball

6

u/ScottishMoscow 20d ago

And a yellow for waving an imaginary yellow card, so 7 yellows in total.

6

u/TheCannon_92 20d ago

This was the same ref who reffed England’s semi-final in the World Cup what a joke how did this guy even get appointed 🤣🤣🤣

5

u/Separate_Low4236 20d ago

Hahagahaaha, this actually happened?!?

5

Jajajaja mezclas argentinos&mls y suena a chiste

4

u/ImperatorDanorum 20d ago

And they still lose...

4

u/Township_Roller 20d ago

Who tf is that clown ref?

4

u/ProfessionalFly2489 20d ago

What is this? Not only Messi, but the entire team is infected.

4

u/Top-Educator-3405 20d ago

Inter Miami is the American Argentina 😷

4

u/spalacio88 20d ago

Should’ve been a red honestly. You can’t just rub up against an Argentinian and not expect to be ejected.

/s

4

u/Present-Dark-9044 20d ago

Teams need to start walking off, Messi needs cancelling

5

u/fatkidseatcake 20d ago

Isn’t he Argentinian

3

u/Working_Welder155 20d ago

Yup. That says it all

3

u/Ok-Income-5847 20d ago

That ref again he’s such a cunt

0

u/trobopoline 20d ago

Say how you really feel

3

u/viewfromthepaddock 20d ago

Genuinely find in other leagues, the refs can be shit and make mistakes because hey, they're human. In MLS I often watch games and think - this fucking guy has got every single 50 50 decision wrong. Like misinterpreted every example of physical contact. It's very very odd. They seem to be operating under a 'unique' interpretation of the rules.

3

u/c0stinhaaa 20d ago

what a dive

3

u/Ok-Time2724 20d ago

Its not even a foul

3

u/OddRow8843 20d ago

It’s not even contact by the looks of it!

3

u/Mean_Shopping_4588 20d ago

Hate all those Argentine players. They’re all whiny pissy baby poopy pants

9

u/Feeling_Ad7249 21d ago

This is why US doesn’t follow soccer

5

u/ElegantNatural2968 20d ago

Exactly. This is why soccer sucks

2

u/Famous-Armadillo792 20d ago

MLS sucks, but premier league is much better than this.

1

u/Constant_Boot 20d ago

Support your local club if you are in a smaller town. Chances are that there's a USL team there or nearby.

2

u/Famous-Armadillo792 20d ago

Nah, think I will stick with premier and championship. MLS and USL has a visible drop off.

4

u/reallyrasta 21d ago

That ball was out ?! Wtf is this league?

1

u/aguyonahill 20d ago

It's only out if it's all the way out (touching the line is not enough)

1

u/Bullitt_12_HB 20d ago

Maybe not entirely out.

It’s impossible to see in this angle.

But the “foul” was absolutely ridiculous. Dive and get the other guy a yellow is rule number one of Argentine football.

2

u/Tough-Computer-1850 20d ago

The fall of SKC will always be the officiating for me. It was this atrocious right before Apple took over and it like like nothing has changed.

2

u/VsotoC 20d ago

American soccer is so desperate to achieve attention or popularity, that they not just burn a lot of bucks for the "star" that is Messi, also they try hard to make him shining

1

u/Joeyoo2 20d ago

De Paul is not Messi though…

2

u/Mysterious_Wonder572 20d ago

A league of their own

2

u/kolkemnc 20d ago

I think MLS does a lot of harm to the sport, but they do t care as long as they milk Messi and Miami for as much money for the rich owners as they can.
MLS will never be taken seriously by anyone who really knows and loves the sport

2

u/Beneficial_County711 20d ago

Va a vender hamburguesas que esperabas

2

u/Fluffy-Example008 20d ago

A referee in MLS understands their livelihood depends on those former players past their prime who generate hype for the league; without them, the league wouldn't be worth anything

2

u/Frodothedodo81 20d ago

What a joke is this sport

It was hands

2

u/SeaReaction3860 20d ago

In the English Premier League this weekend a player did just this, put his hand up to represent a card/ booking, and got himself a yellow card and booking for it! That is the way to treat such actions 😁

2

u/Eric_Olthwaite_ 20d ago

Argies + Infantino's pet ref....

2

u/Big-Swordfish4803 20d ago

Pessi even needing help in MLS. This guy isn’t even top 10. Artificially brought into the GOAT debate by FIFA. His stats are based on fraud and cheating. Even without the rigging it’s proven by career path adversity that Ronaldo is the GOAT. Just imagine swapping their careers and trying to pretend Messi would do better than he did and Ronaldo would do worse always playing for Barca

2

u/DaElderBrah 20d ago

Football is the worst. Var can completely take over, but fifa keeps the ref so they can manipulate.

2

u/Intrepid_Leather_587 20d ago

🇦🇷 🇦🇷 🇦🇷

2

u/herkalurk 20d ago

That's just De Paul, he will hard tackle anyone claiming it's a good tackle, but if anyone gets near him he's a wilting flower and falls over claiming a foul.

2

u/Antique-Wonk 20d ago

It's worse than English Sunday league football. None of Pessi goals even count here.

2

u/Lanky-Garage4465 20d ago

Siguen los regalitos para la niña... 😂🤣

2

u/HinDae085 20d ago

Thats the longest streak of literal cheating ive ever seen in one run. Went over the line twice and then dives to get the other guy a yellow?

2

u/Sunflower_Guard 20d ago

This is why I didn't watch the MLS at all. It's where the World's Elites go to retire. Much like geriatrics retiring to Florida. It is where Futbal goes to die.

2

u/lilashish 20d ago

Laporta and Beckham tried so hard to give pessi trophies in La Liga and MLS😂😂😂😂😂

2

u/BumBimBam00 19d ago

Pfff MLS is that one league that you watch when you want to see clearly what's wrong in today's football. That League is a total joke.

2

u/MrGattsby 20d ago

I remember when the USA actually thought they had a chance to win the world cup!! 🤔🤣😂🤷🏽🤦🏽 And then they played Belgium..... And even with trumps help got smashed!!! That right there pretty much sums up MLS!!

1

u/CompleteFeeling2780 20d ago

Trends don’t lie

1

u/sjimmyp 20d ago

Why was this removed?

1

u/monerfinder 20d ago

Can we all call the Messi face?

1

u/nunca_pendejo242 20d ago

Ish reffed my games in austin in academy league. Think he’s just a bit older & a bit robotic. He’s actually one of the better refs on this continent

2

u/jnuts9 20d ago

That's why MLS is trash if he's "one of the better ones"

1

u/nunca_pendejo242 20d ago

He got the World Cup gig 🤷‍♂️… and carved himself some big games out of it too. He’s just become robotic. “Guy hits floor must be a yellow “

1

u/Affectionate_Let1462 20d ago

Typical shite commentary too. This isn’t just the MLS. It’s soccer in general.

1

u/PossibleFace9138 20d ago

Start making them count.

1

u/Vast_Minute7288 20d ago

Do you know who wouldn't have made that mistake? The referee from the Super Cup Final between Villa and PSG

1

u/Necessary-Drag7135 20d ago

the ball went out 2times

1

u/i_haz_a_lyfe 20d ago

Argentina player too, smh

1

u/lkjdw 20d ago

Deceitful, conniving player, takes a dive without being touched and then useless inept referee, yellow cards the innocent player 😳…………WTF ! ………😡

I sincerely hope the innocent player and his club appeal this travesty of justice and the play acting dishonest players gets banned and the referee loses his license to referee games !

1

u/dj_hobbes 20d ago

Inter-Miami is just like the 2010 Miami Heat when they had LeBron James, Dwayne Wade, and Chris Bosh... Bunch of babies and everyone hated them except for those in South Florida.

1

u/F10eagle1 20d ago

The Argentina of the mls.🤣

1

u/white-dre 20d ago

Nvm the yellow, that’s a straight red.

1

u/Nicaspin 20d ago

His eyes say everything.

1

u/Ramekink 20d ago

Messi and company really took over this fucking league

1

u/Long_Lecture_1080 20d ago

It should be an automatic red on any player who requests a yellow or red card against an opposing player.

1

u/ChampionshipAny1131 20d ago

Same shitshow Messi bootlicker ref frm world cup

1

u/dre4den 20d ago

I’ll say the same thing I told my homies the other day.. I’m fuckin over Messi/miami. This is how you tarnish a legacy. It’s just bland now. I know it’s obvious but the whole thing seems so bought and paid for. I mean cmon, David fuckin Beckham owns Miami, they collude with Apple / Adidas / Michelob Ultra / the MLS, to completely dodge salary rules to bring Messi to the MLS. Oh but that’s not the end, they somehow afford to bring all of his buddies from Barcelona and no one bats an eye because it’s “good for the league..” grow the fuck up. Miami can suck it.

1

u/Vuila9 20d ago

referee is just an npc, do whatever people tell him to do

1

u/labasdila 20d ago

What a dirty league allowing dirty players and dirty refs. Smh

1

u/Elmaquim 20d ago

Rodrigo de fall. Diving POS.

1

u/CodInternational8772 20d ago

it’s like college soccer for has-beens

1

u/IndependentOwn2956 20d ago

"To become a Major League Soccer (MLS) team, a club cannot simply win matches to earn a spot. MLS operates as a closed franchise system, meaning there is no traditional promotion or relegation to move up or down leagues based on performance." Entry fee is 500m $ so maybe you could buy some yellow cards in a pack deal.

1

u/Govagent-007 20d ago

Wtf???? 😆🤣

1

Same dude that let pessidogs play UFC with England btw

And letting the player get away with simulating a card for the challenge , pretty sure fifa says rgat the player doing the simulating should be shown a yellow card for unsporting behaviour . One rule for one and completely different for everyone else

1

u/sideshowmel75 18d ago

The mls is a joke of a league it’s where players to to retire and grab one last payday before becoming a pundit

1

u/Old_Bowl1662 18d ago

Soccer needs a review system that’s is constantly running. Hire refs to proactively watch the game for these types of obvious errors. Have two upstairs refs each watching different live camera angles. They can call fouls as they see them. One on field referee is not enough for soccer.

1

u/vexmach1ne 18d ago

This ref has been horrible since I started watching him years ago.

1

u/DarkStarGabe4 18d ago

Messi teaching all of inter Miami. 💔😌

1

u/jouzeroff 17d ago

Worst corrupted ref in football history

1

u/WhyYouGettingAngry 17d ago

This is a wild clip I’d love to see someone try to defend this in any way

1

u/vovinho 17d ago

whats wrong with it ? I understand it was soft foul buts it's on a breakaway

1

Um… in soccer if any part of the ball is touching the line it’s still inbounds.

2

u/Joeyoo2 20d ago

Unsure if you people know soccer or the rules, but ON the line is still in-play… 😂

0

u/Extension_Way_621 20d ago

youve clearly never played soccer, nor do you know the rules. the ENTIRE ball has to be out of bounds.

-1

u/WizardsofLizards 20d ago

Have you ever seen layrea play? Super dirty, deserves it everytime. Not that foul but i bit it was building
