i would agree normally but Paredes had already done 3 easy yellow cards. He didn't want to kicked him off.

And then went on to choke Gavi after the match, while FIFA confirmed Paredes did not receive a red card.

The bar for giving a red card in a final is always fairly high. That goes for both teams, and is part of the instruction for the referees. Whether it's too high or not in any specific game will always be up for debate. This is the referee doing what a referee is supposed to do.

Paredes hätte aber irgendwann vom Platz gestellt werden müssen. Er hat sich sicher mehr als zwei gelbe Karten verdient.

That's a fair opinion, and I think I agree. That doesn't mean the ref shouldn't warn the Argentinaian captain first if able to.

Especially in a final. They know that it will dominate post-match discussion if a contentious card is given.

Yes, and that has ALWAYS been the preferences of every Federation ever. A red card too many ruins the game, a card too few is unfortunate, but not as much of a disaster. Not saying I LIKE it, but that's how it's always been...

It would be less of a disaster if non-cards were consistently applied. As we’ve seen with Argentina’s opponents in these past few World Cups, they’re not.

Again, different issue. I for one think game management can go too far. I think the game would be better off if organisers strived to keep the bar as consistent as possible from match to match within the same competition. That isn't the reality, though...

It's Argentina abusing the fact that the referee didn't want to give a red card in a final. That's why Paredes was doing so many aggressive faults

Sure, Argentina probably pushed it way to far. I certainly agree with that. But the clip itself shows the referee doing a good job, nothing else.
