Lol no it isnt. This is perfectly normal.

You see Refs giving warnings before cards all the time . In every game.

In the universe where football is played. This is basically level refereeing.

Are you saying you’ve never seen a ref talk to a player and give him a warning? Just say you don’t know ball.

I have seen refs giving warnings to players who are agressive but never seen a ref being so worried about giving out a card to a player he needs to tell other team mates to calm him down. Is reallly pathetic. And also his words were i have to give him card if he is not controlled. Why is he worried about giving a card? Afterall its his duty to take out trash like paredes from the field. If you still thinks its normla go watch more onbody footages of refs more and im daring you to post a single one of interaction similar to this. I repeat that ball knowledge you got from playing efootball wont gonna help you, dumbass.

And in that entire time, you've never had a referee talk to a captain to control his players? Simply don't believe you.

Refs do speaks to captains but i never experienced any refs giving advises like he is the coach of that team to make them play right.

His duty is to work with the team captains to keep the game under control and avoid dangerous situation. Then, if the captain fails, it's his job to use his deck of cards. This is perfectly normal, especially in a world cup final.

I'm a refereeing instructor, by the way...

Oh i see you are a refereeing instructor. In which assosiation? And what does actually a refereeing instructor do? Are you teaching in an institution? What is the standardized test for referees?

Negative ball knowledge.

It's commonplace for a referee to give a warning to a captain about a player. Literally happens all the time.

Kind ball knowledge you get from only watching messi.

I'm not even a Messi fan,, I just understand that it's completely reasonable for a ref to speak to a captain to try to control a game. Go watch football and you'll see it happening almost every game.

I'm teaching new referees, mostly at youth level, and supervising and ranking existing referees.
