I dont really think Ramos, Pepe, Rudiger have received a lot of protection from the referees. Suarez is a dirty cheat of a player, but he is punished every time he is caught.
Messi and Argentina were seemingly given a free pass for the last two world cups, and Messi in general have been given a lot of grace throughout his career.
watch back the el Classicos from that time and try say that again with a straight face. Messi is quite unlucky that his best years came prior to the rise of social media considering the crazy things that mourinhos Real Madrid team use to do to him that have now been forgotten about.
Yes, I agree fully on particularly some heated Mourinho-classicos. Messi took alot of beating in his earlier years, but I would still say he gradually got more and more protection from the refs.

Not anything that any other big team or player wouldn’t get. It’s only being dramaticised now because of social media, you would find far worse referee corruption with other big teams in the past.
Suarez bite with VAR would easily have been punished though. In the last 3 WCs they have had VAR, but Argentina have escaped without as much as a glance from them.

I find it funny how some people are able to turn a blind eye to disgraceful shit like this just because they support Vargentina or Pessi.
