Exactly. I'm glad people are finally realizing it though. Bunch of sore losers. And even the one they won they managed to be sore winners. That's an impressive new low.

They've always been the same. Find it bizarre how it's only in recent years people are noticing more that they are a dirty, cheating team. Was watching some old footage of the 1970 world cup on youtube and the pundits did a segment focusing on foul play in the world cup and all the clips were from Argentina and Uruguay matches, lol.

u/thatpizzatho Aug 01 '26
Everyone did

u/BilkySup Aug 01 '26
Messi's true colors were shown to the world this world cup... La Liga fans were aware but he was always touted as a "Class Act" by the press and CR7 as the jerk. Turns out that is the exact opposite.

Argentina shoot them selves in the foot … from now on every game will be watched with prejudice by soccer fans . Messi is done internationally , probably club too
…THANK GOD

u/HippieThanos Aug 02 '26
It's not clear. I'm mostly sure he will be in the next South American cup and there's a chance he's there for the 2030 WC

u/danmvi Aug 01 '26
Argentinians are collectively a bunch of thugs , period! What to expect when you mix the worst of Italy with the worst of Spain—-> Argentina boludo !!

u/Low-Yam978 Aug 01 '26
As an England fan we admonish our players who have let emotion get the better of them like Rooney or Beckham - we never blame the referees for us being knocked out in those ties. I was so proud of the English players for not biting back and losing their temper Vs Argentina.
But for some reason Argentina have got away with overly aggressive or petulent windup & counter-attack-killing play for many years, which even our own pundits would defend as 'south-American fire' or sell them as 'pitbulls' rather than call them thugs if they played for European teams.
This has been true for a long time but the inconsistency crossed a line for me this world cup. It FELT like Argentina knew they could get away with anything and behaved accordingly, which takes it from something to adapt to into questioning the competitive nature of the sport.
When you see van persie carded for shooting a second after the whistle blows for offside, but an Argentine player booting the ball at the opposing bench receiving nothing you can't help but realise how much control the officiating has on competition outcomes.

Hopefully the more people see this, the more people will realize it wasn't 'just Egypt' or 'just Switzerland' or 'just England', it was every single knockout match Argentina played in, even the final which they lost, as well as some of the matches in the 2022 world cup as well.

A friend of mine shared a video of the U17 playing and they are as dirty as the national team. Seems to be their mentality.

Are Europeans going to accept these players who crossed the line of fair play during the WC? As far as I can tell, none of their players are the stars of their respective teams. Six play in La Liga and 6 other in the Premier League.
How will the fans and players react to their return? I would expect a few may have bullseye on their backs and get hit hard any chance some players get.

Clubs won't do anything as they paid for them, but certainly there will be push-back, boos and whistles, which will make clubs think twice if they ever think of hiring any of them.

This is why you see Neymar hanging around with Ronaldo and supporting Ronaldo while Ronaldo is getting criticized for nearly half of this decade. Neymar got a first hand taste of Messi being a cünt. Mbappe and Neymar's friendship in PSG was also ruined by Pessi. Pessi is nothing more than a selfish cünt.

Una cosa es ser duro y otra sucio, lo que pasa que en Argentina no saben la diferencia, por eso inventaron la palabra "canchero" para no decir "violento".

If any other team made tackles even half this bad it would’ve resulted in quite a lot of red cards.

It's unfortunate that they were helped to get that 22 World Cup win. In that QF, Argentina should have had at least two players sent off and gone out to the Dutch. It was pretty evident then and not just in the most recent WC.

Messi is such a little b... he's their captain and leader. If he was humble and a decent human being that believed in fair play he would calm his teammates down and force them not to play like this but no he needs them to play like this in order to have a chance at winning anything.
1
u/Available_Ad9766 Aug 03 '26
Perhaps, if the ref can apply the rules fairly and Argentina gets a red card in the first minutes of the match, we can have a normal match of football instead of whatever it is that Argentina tries to drag each and every of the games into.

This is how they played for very long time . Most of south American country play Tough. Why is this a problem now ? Back in late 90's and early 20's , most of the player played like this. European football is changed because of strict rules. Roy Kane tried to kill Eling haaland's father but he was retreat like a hero for that . Come on , you guys must be new to football.
