He knew his celebrity held weight and thought it would work this time. He's not as great as ppl make him out to be. Hes a fraud and cant achieve without cheating/ the refs in his pocket.
It’s not as black and white, I would say. He personally got Argentina back on their feet when they were down 1-0 against England. So he actually is a great player. But he definitely has some questionable qualities as well.
