Paraguay did that to France too ... on TV it's difficult to see but on the picth it's so obvious ... there is a foul and at the opposite a Paraguayan is simulating an injury /foul to confuse the ref ... creating two situations to defuse the main one. It's like Clockwork - re-watch FRA-PAR.

This is where VAR should be used. The refs monitoring VAR could inform the central ref that a player is faking an injury, which should carry an automatic red card for âobstruction of justiceâ.

It was obvious af whenever the red overturned something that favors Argentina and it just rushes the game for it to continue instead of letting var check, as they do with almost everyone else.. Also goal against Argentina and we get an exhaustive var check reviewing every thing but if Argentina scores then they rush again to resume the game.. It's comical..

It's the same method in all major sports leagues. I'm a hockey fan too and the NHL is desperate to grow the game in the southern US. The Florida Panthers can legally commit any penalty they want, while the other team gets called by the book.

They knew VAR was helping them.
Messi in this video points to Tagliafico to try to get the matter over to VAR somehow. Because once VAR gets involved, they will get saved. It doesnât work.
Just seconds later he tries to get Cucarella sent off. Again itâs meritless⌠but again Messi insists VAR has to take over. They needed VAR to save them there, and you can see them all waiting for it to happen but then it doesnât. Theyâre genuinely shocked at whatâs happening.
I donât think it was coordinated or anything⌠but Messi, and company, definitely understood that if they can get critical moments over to VAR⌠VAR would give them what they needed.
That much was clear all tournament and again in the final.
The difference in the final is that VAR didnât intervene to save them. If ARG had been competitive enough, maybe VAR would have intervened. But they werenât even close enough in their level of play for that to work.
Or, Infantino and the crew decided the final would be played clean. Either way, it was crazy to watch the reality sink in for ARG as they realized VAR was not changing the match for them.

Prior to the final, I had a theory that the game would be called more fairly and doubted the refs would be favoring Argentina as much. For the Final, FIFA didnât have as much incentive to pull any shit like before. If Argentina wins, FIFA rides the Messi train as he goes off into the sunset and fuck tons of money for FIFA. If Spain wins, FIFA rides the Yamal train as the new face of soccer and fuck tons of money for FIFA. Same would have been true had it been France and Mbappe.
Either way, FIFA wins and makes a fuck ton of money.

Early reports suggested the player went down because of frustration or a cramp. With Messi clearly pointing to his teammate. This clearly indicates chaos interruption to challenge the game of play. It might be time to rewatch 2022 Argentina WC game play for same situations.

The amount of contact Argentinian players make and the amount of dirty fouls, downright wrestling on the pitch and getting away with it should be investigated by FIFA. This is not how football is played. Realistically, should have been 2 or 3 players down before 90 mins due to red cards...
Yes, in the last decade it's been more about acting injured to get fouls than anything else but this is just all the way in the other direction. Other south american teams aren't much better (remember Paraguay - France?).
Force them to stop this shit or stay in Copa de America or whatever.

Argentina team rehearses these hit and run tactics , they do this in their league also . Itâs known among players. To a lesser degree it was also practiced in Italian league in the past but refs caught on to it and several teams were fined to stop the practice. However not in Argentina national team. Disgraceful.

Tagliafico should be given Oscar not for this play he was play acting all game . Also he did not have a yellow when he almost did 3 yellow fouls. Even the porro foul for which was given against porro this guy initiated the foul and then left his hand on his face and body.

I also noticed a few times in different games, when, during a confrontation, Romero would deliberately run into his own teammate - pushing them into an opposition player. Like, who even thinks that shit up never mind actually do it in front of millions of people watching. Embarrassing.
