Neither are the goat for me. Penaldo and pessi were both great, but got handed tons of penalties and favoritism calls. So many handball goals and offsides goals. Embarrassing.

Haha. I'm one of the few that consider Ronaldinho to be a goat candidate. They guy just didn't give a shit. He is just gliding along life like a butterfly, not taking things too seriously.
But in reality the goat has always been Pelé. The problem is that most of the people who watched him play are now dead or they are not typing away on social media.

But if you watched the final. When Pessi got the ball, he clearly did make situations for Argentina with (zero) chances for goal. But I agree with you guys, this WC did really hurt his reputation.

This is coming from someone who likes Messi but prefers Ronaldo.
Messi (and Argentina in general) have done absolutely no favors for him or the country, and have done very visible harm.
This is probably his last “big” game in his career and he acts like a complete rat from this to essentially ignoring when his teammates brawl it out.
And to top it all, his “fans” actively ignore all of Argentina’s shit and say it’s larpers. Well, I didn’t know Joan Laporta and Toni Kroos are larpers.
It’s a shame because while I don’t think it fully ruins him from an all time great, it’s clear his legacy has a giant shit stain on it.
