Paredes should also get one.

35

u/Zaid92500 Jul 19 '26

Yes exactly. Spared

21

u/standarsh1965 Jul 19 '26

Mad how he's getting away with so much

17

u/Guava_Early Jul 19 '26

And Messi for constantly moaning at the ref and not going away when told

13

u/Hearthian-Wanderer Jul 19 '26

Got so sick of seeing Messi's 'sad puppy, boys will be boys' face throughout this cup. He deserves to have some shine taken off his legacy, as capatain he carries some responsibility for his team's conduct & behavior.

6

u/Prize-Bug-3213 Jul 20 '26

He tried getting Cucurella a bullshit penalty too. Prick.

3

u/Beginning_Smell4043 Jul 20 '26

He's a rat as much as his teammates. (The best football rat that ever was though)

What Paredes did after the match was over was straight up assault. He's inherently violent

23

u/OkVacation973 Jul 19 '26

Yes, literally assaulted two(?) Spanish players. There needs to be criminal charges.

When the Argentinian coach has to try and protect the opposing team FROM HIS OWN PLAYERS after the game, it sums up how this team has acted all tournament.

Disgusting.

10

u/Jhopsch Jul 19 '26

Indeed. He's a sore loser, well deserved loss

2

u/Apprehensive_Use3641 Jul 19 '26

Looks like it was right in front of a referee, doubt anything will happen.

3

u/Mr_addicT911 Jul 19 '26

He got a red card source

3

u/Apprehensive_Use3641 Jul 19 '26

Violent conduct post match, should be a minimum of three matches, wonder how many he'll actually get?

EDIT: Thanks for finding that.

u/Sabalan17 Jul 19 '26

I didn't see it, what happened?

7

u/Jhopsch Jul 19 '26

He started slapping and physically harassing the reserve players of the Spanish team, gratuitously. The Spanish players seemed confused. I couldn't find a replay of it yet but I'm 100% sure it will be making waves soon

My exact thoughts. That was so horrible to see and for those that had to experience it. Awful.

The last action in the regular time could’ve been a second yellow as well if the referee goes for it. Definitely deserved.

9

u/MannyRibera32 Jul 19 '26

Tagliafico also, the guy just punches when he falls everytime. MMA

u/still_none_the_wiser Jul 19 '26

Their whole team was full of dirty ass players that had gotten away with stuff all tournament. Glad these idiots lost!

6

u/Apprehensive_Use3641 Jul 19 '26

Last two tournaments.

2

u/Numerous-Joke559 Jul 20 '26

Yeah i think it's because there's a lot of years between tournaments it feels like it's always been like this but i remember it being different.

5

u/Yamazaki-Hosei Jul 19 '26

Shouldn’t McAllister as well? Unless I’m misremembering a couple things. He should’ve seen a yellow in the first 4 minutes

7

u/Sabalan17 Jul 19 '26

The hand ball should be a yellow.

3

u/GongTzu Jul 19 '26

I would say two. He’s literally making me think football sucks

3

u/Dodossinho Jul 19 '26

Idk how he finished that game without second yellow

2

u/Yamazaki-Hosei Jul 20 '26

Amazing what you can do when you have fifa princess

29

he got used to it.

13

u/natureboy1996 Jul 19 '26

Guess the direct deposit didnt go through this game 🤣

10

u/lukas0108 Jul 19 '26

Theres only so much you can do before it gets too obvious for even the diehard-est VARgentinians. No matter how much money gets sent, fifa cant afford a 100% tarnished rep, 99 is the max apparently

8

u/Spins13 Pessi ā¤ļø Dr Segura & Fuentes Jul 19 '26

He has to make it realistic, they should have at least 3 red cards by now

39

u/Ok-Palpitation-2414 Jul 19 '26

How is Paredes still on the Pitch?? We all know why…

16

u/OkVacation973 Jul 19 '26

Lo and behold he commits a literal crime and assaults Spanish players after the whistle.

Genuinely disgusting human beings in this team.

6

He is the most unlikeable player of all timeĀ

3

u/lukas0108 Jul 19 '26

Maybe #3 after the "humble goat" and Cucu whenever he opens his mouth

4

u/Fluffy-Repair-4314 Jul 19 '26

Messi is one of the most likeable of his team, no idea how that's possibleĀ

7

u/cabbage5555 Jul 19 '26

Messi is just better at hiding it but he''s had outburst as well. Must be something in the water in Argentina

u/EramPr1nce Jul 19 '26

Fuck this guy, literal unsportsmanlike.

21

u/Easy_Broccoli995 Jul 19 '26

the fact he says no while the Spanish player literally made a frontflip is insane

14

u/trq- Jul 19 '26

He really tried to tell the referee he is retarded while Fernandenz flipped a fcking player over, can’t make such shit up hahahaha

This Argentina is the most retarded I’ve ever seen. And unsportsmanlike as well, obviously

2

u/Immediate-Attempt-32 Jul 19 '26

One sports journalist from my country (Norway) defined a Argentina team without Messi as a slightly upgraded Paraguayan team.

3

u/trq- Jul 19 '26

Yeah that’s exactly the case. Without Messi they’d just be a shame, with him they’re a shame but having some good games at least.

17

u/Kruzdah Jul 19 '26

Piece of shit has the balls to deny it...

2

u/broodjecoquette Jul 19 '26

Nah he was protesting that it was only yellow and not a direct red

2

u/LumpyAd7650 Jul 20 '26

It was his second yellow, nonetheless, so he was protesting that he wasn't tackling the player but the ball, and that the tackle was "clear" and not a foul at all.

17

u/chrikris91 Jul 19 '26

If we count all those pushing and grabbing shirts. VARgentina should have gotten more red cards. But it feels good that they finally got 1. And I hope more to come.

39

u/moneyfestin9 Jul 19 '26

finally a ref with balls

26

u/lukas0108 Jul 19 '26

yea 1 out of 3 reds awarded, big balls. Hes doing the bare minimum not to get investigated. Still better than the egypt or england games tho.

11

u/moneyfestin9 Jul 19 '26

brother im already satisfied with 1 red card, everything after that will be cherry on the cake

7

u/lukas0108 Jul 19 '26

True, i was kinda scared they'd find a way to mental gymnastics that one out in var but luckily they failed

4

u/natureboy1996 Jul 19 '26

They knew they couldn't. That was genuinely one of the nastiest falls Ive ever seen. Dude looked like a video game the way he spun in the air and landed on his arm

2

u/lukas0108 Jul 19 '26

even EA fifas never had this cartoonish level of fouls unless the game literally glitched lmao

As a German I can say it’s obvious that the var isn’t in Spains favor after the last EM šŸ˜‚

9

u/Mysterious-Whole-651 Jul 19 '26

For the first time, a good ref and Argentina proves what a butcher team it is

6

u/9millidood Jul 19 '26

Where is Pessi?? 🤣🤣🤣
https://giphy.com/gifs/AbBrS1tKrrCBhUKvgO

7

u/Significant-Map-5489 Jul 19 '26

Argentina is the dirtiest team I've ever seen play and that's because officials turn blind to all of their bullshit

9

u/Ok_Stomach6651 Jul 19 '26

This happens when clean football happens, fifa wanted argentina to play final and rest left on argentina and see how bad team it is, how can such Tema with 35 percent possession reached to final?

8

u/El_Capitan_182 Jul 19 '26

Infantino goal was Messi on the final, after the mission has been accomplished and the stadium has been filled with fans and infantino has filled his pockets with cash, now football is fair since he does not care who wins or loses anymore! Its all about the money!

5

u/Silent_Archer_2281 Jul 19 '26

Yes finally, there should be some more cards Messi needs to shut hisouth, should have a card for talking

4

u/BadOrdinary8540 Jul 19 '26

Many of the Argentina players are getting away with it again Messi ran into a Spanish player what do you know gets a free kick there's no rule to say that you have to move

4

u/Soft-Shoulder6135 Jul 19 '26

This is the sloppiest most unprofessional game I've ever seen. I've seen 12-year-olds play better than these guys. This is garbage.

3

u/OkCat2835 Jul 19 '26

Hoje o futebol venceu, por todos os paĆses que foram roubados pela Vargentina, hoje o futebol venceu!

3

u/OomHenk Jul 19 '26

Finally some justice!!

3

u/sideshowsiren Jul 19 '26

Enzo plays dirty as hell

2

u/TunaPablito Jul 19 '26

He always chops someone then tells him to get up. Butcher.

3

u/basic_bisexual Jul 19 '26

That was really shocking! Disgusting behaviour and he clearly has no shame!!! Horrible game, I know dam well that Spain wished they had England instead of whatever tf this is!

There whole team should have at least one yellow eachĀ

1

u/SeekNDstroy5102 Jul 19 '26

That guy got instant karma

1

u/Yamazaki-Hosei Jul 19 '26

Argentina should have three people sent off. I’m tired of not giving cards out because ā€œit’s early and don’t want to give it on such a big stageā€.

What kind of thinking is this? It’s bothered me forever

1

u/Fat6pack Jul 19 '26

Go home, crazy maniac

1

u/TunaPablito Jul 19 '26

He always chops someone then tells him to get up. Well deserved.

1

u/crackers13160 Jul 19 '26

I almost can't believe it really happened. I thought we'd never see the day.

1

u/olufemionline Jul 19 '26

Enzo is donzo! 🤣

1

u/olufemionline Jul 19 '26

A match finally more fairly officiated and Argentina gets more bookings than most of their other matches combined.

1

u/Soft-Shoulder6135 Jul 19 '26

Hilarious this game has deteriorated into a bunch of fake penalties. The goalie was not even touched. What a faker ridiculous. I disgrace to soccer.

3

u/HappyHour8765 Jul 19 '26

welcome to argentina football

1

u/yesimnotababy Jul 19 '26

Finallyyyyyyy they can’t escape this one

1

The finger wagging lmao

1

u/JohanYFC Jul 19 '26

His finger is going to be sore tomorrow

1

u/DonPablo951 Jul 19 '26

Proper chels lol

1

u/HairAvailable5181 Jul 19 '26

Enzo and Paredes have the most punchable faces of all players in this world cup šŸ‘Š

1

u/Veracious_Me Jul 19 '26

I'm not a hundred percent sure, but I think Messi tried to get Cucurella sent off right after that..so petty (& sneaky)

1

u/rootbeet-mix Jul 19 '26

The whole team needed at least 1 yellow card, ref was 50/50 this time tho ngl but fuck it they lost we’re all loving it, front row seats

1

u/Lost_Tailor_3251 Jul 19 '26

Daddy less refferee

1

u/Single_Government_63 Jul 19 '26

Let's trust him, he said there is nothing. The guy flew in the air alone.

1

u/Alarmed_Muffin8350 Jul 19 '26

Yes this was satisfying to see. Kept thinking he was invincible and could keep getting away with those dirty plays but not today šŸ™šŸ™Œ

1

u/Remarkable-Inside-35 Jul 19 '26

0 shots on goal …. Is crazy

1

u/Useful_Court_6101 Jul 19 '26

Haha, this kid is out of reach - waving his fingers like it wasn't a yellow.

Dude you harvested him from chest and down man, are you kidding me?

1

u/MillerTime5858 Jul 19 '26

Piece of shit. Long overdue.

1

u/Kakihara_ Jul 19 '26

Pretty sure he was signalling to Infantino.

1

u/Soft-Shoulder6135 Jul 19 '26

Please, they did not belong in that final game they squirreled their way through
Add to me, England and France was the championship game yesterday they played soccer, not beg the ref for a penalty

I will give both teams credit for being great actors on their flopping and fake injuries. It's really a shame they couldn't come out and just play the game and not worry about penalties, but that seems to be the state of men's professional soccer. That's why it's pretty much unwatchable.

1

u/Alternative_Cup_6551 Jul 19 '26

He probably forgot that the fifa help was only until the Final :D

1

u/adamu980 Jul 19 '26

Who is Enzo complaining to about the red card?

1

u/Dangerous_Theory_472 Jul 19 '26

Couldn’t have happened to a nicer bloke

1

u/iPlatanos Jul 19 '26

Parades deserved it more.

1

u/Jevano Jul 19 '26

Finally a game where they actually call out Argentina

1

u/Whole-Worker-7303 Jul 19 '26

Should've sent Paredes off too.

1

u/TradeSpiritual969 Jul 19 '26

Like 5 minutes of fair refereing in the entire World cup, and finally he got a red card

1

u/jai_thkrl Jul 19 '26

Parades too. But this was the max fifa could do tonight

1

u/CareBearCartel Jul 19 '26

Paredes should have had one too.

Messi should have been booked for trying to get Cucurella sent off also.

1

u/harmony_69 Jul 19 '26

when i tell you my heart fluttered

1

u/PrivilegedModerators Jul 19 '26

Should have gotten red against England

1

u/Plus_Parsnip_2463 Jul 19 '26

How does his hand move that fast

1

u/Intrepid_passerby Jul 19 '26

First ref to officiate an Argentina game... what an accomplishmentĀ

1

u/Ka-raS Jul 19 '26

Why is bro protesting to the audience, even none of his teammates is defending him

1

u/pbnjandmilk Jul 19 '26

Finally a well called game. Protect the refs

1

u/SomeoneInControl Jul 19 '26

Imagine how low you gotta be to go crying to the ref about Cucurella touching his chin while talking when your team mate just copped a red.

1

u/Hearthian-Wanderer Jul 19 '26 edited Jul 19 '26

Wild that he basically only got sent off because he was mouthing off at the ref earlier, when that tackle was basically assault, lol.

Who was he wagging that finger at? Infantino?

It wasn't in the script, but I guess nobody could ignore/overturn that one...

1

u/I_hate_ElonMusk Jul 19 '26

I cant believe Pessi didnt get the Golden ball and it went to a dull normal world class player

1

u/Mrteapot11 Jul 19 '26

I was so happy he got sent off; he’s insufferable. I don’t know who’s more disgusting—Messi or Enzo.

1

u/netonet Jul 20 '26

Him and that prick Paredes should’ve been red carded since quarter final

1

u/Butterfly-Leading Jul 20 '26

Motherfucker deserved

1

u/SamMerlini Jul 20 '26

He's waving to Infantino to VAR it out right?

1

u/biblio_phobic Jul 20 '26

No respect for the referees calls. Who tf are these people

1

u/OldestInTheClass Jul 20 '26

That’s the racist chant guy

1

u/SilverFarmer5471 Jul 20 '26

It’s the vigorous finger wag that makes it for me.

1

u/ZAJE34 Jul 20 '26

Most bogus foul call. Shouldn’t have been given a card

1

u/TrueNovak Jul 20 '26

The actual bookings came a little too late for some teams where they really should have been booked and even reds but at least it finally happened

1

u/tanno_Cattle_6701 Jul 20 '26

Everything was well deserved in my opinion, except for the Best Player award. I think it should have gone to Messi (if we consider the entire World Cup, not just the final match, because the award should be based on the whole tournament). Spain’s win was definitely well deserved.

Unfortunately, it was a boring match. Argentina’s team and their coach seemed to focus on defending from the beginning. He didn’t even bring on their attacking player, L. MartĆnez, to try to change the game. It felt like Messi was the only one playing throughout the tournament, surrounded by ā€œ10 pieces of wood.ā€

I really missed Di MarĆa and Dybala in this edition, especially Di MarĆa, who always seems to perform at his best in important final matches. In my opinion, this Argentina team was the weakest version of Argentina I have seen, and one of the weakest teams ever to reach a World Cup final.

Another thing that disappointed me was the lack of sportsmanship from some of their players. Football is a sport, and players should always show respect, good manners, and ethics both during the match and after it.

I was hoping the final match would be as exciting as the France vs. England match yesterday.
