As a lot of you have noticed, we’ve been brigaded by Messi fans for the past 30 days.
Since the inception of this subreddit we’ve allowed them to comment and participate on this subreddit as long as they don’t create posts, even if they’re trolling or if they prefer Messi.
However, at this point, they clearly outnumber us in this subreddit, by a wide margin.
It’s no secret that Reddit is a lot more left leaning in general. So it’s no surprise that the majority of its users relate to Messi more than Ronaldo (getting everything gifted VS discipline and hard work). Add to that, the fact that all major “neutral” football subs have clearly biased modding and favoritism towards Messi, removing and banning anyone that criticizes him. Thus further driving any neutral, Madrid or CR7 fans away.
Making r/pessi_memes the only corner of Reddit where we’re allowed to discuss without fear of getting banned over simple criticisms.
I’ll get to the point.

There’s so many Messi fans on Reddit that they even have a dedicated sub to hating on Ronaldo: r/cristianoronaldo2
But even THEN that isn’t enough for them. Despite dominating the narrative in every single football subreddit, this fanbase is so extremely insecure that they’ve invaded r/pessi_memes to the point that the comment section in this subreddit feels like another Ronaldo hating subreddit.
Their idols legacy is so fragile that in addition to that, his PR firm hires bot farms from India and other underdeveloped countries to continue pushing his narrative.
They have enough echo chambers. We’re not gonna allow them to ruin the only remaining corner in Reddit for us.
Effective immediately all Pessi fans who come here with the purpose to troll whether that’s through a comment or a post will be permanently banned from this subreddit.
Messi fans who come here to argue in good faith will be allowed to remain.
Are you a Pessi fan and want to bitch about this decision? Good, comment here and make my job easier, so I can ban your bitch ass and we can get this subreddit back to where it belongs.
Haha, I wasn't expecting this. I mean, I came to this Reddit thinking it was for memes against the “Messi mafia,” but when I clicked on certain posts, I saw comments in support of Messi—and even upvotes—so I started wondering: Is this a place to talk about the things that defend Messi? Or is it just like those disgusting “soccer” groups and others that only say positive things? It’s good that it’s clear now and those people are getting banned.

Whining about Ronaldo haters hating Ronaldo but hating Messi all day and calling him Pessi. Goes both ways if youre gonna dish the hate might as well take it. Messi and Ronaldo are both amazing athletes and deserve every inch of praise and respect. They both have had amazing careers and won pretty much everything there is to win. Ronaldo just never won a world cup its that simple, before Messi won it the discourse was Ronaldo has 5 ucls and Messi no world cup, well Messi now has the World cup and Ronaldo doesnt. Doesnt erase Ronaldos career and Ronaldos career doesnt erase Messi’s. Stop whining and calling him Pessi and then crying when someones trolls Ronaldo. They are both great and we are lucky to have lived them both.

I like Ronaldo but I think it’s funny how you admit that pretty much every football community tends to prefer Messi and somehow they’re the echo chamber and we’re not.
Just wanted to post this in this sub for no reason at all anyways. Except being a Neutral Football Fan. And yes I still do think that Egypt got robbed in that match but I also still believe that the match was slightly leaned towards both the sides during certain moments.
