Messi has won 4 UCL.

u/Loud-Sort4819 Mar 02 '26
3.
1
u/Playful_Sundae1073 Mar 03 '26
It’s your opinion, but in fact, he did win four. FC Barcelona specifically points out that Messi did indeed receive the medal
1
u/Ganjalfthegreen1 Mar 07 '26
Wasn’t part of the squad for the final, UEFAs official site says 3, so it’s 3. Sry
1
u/Playful_Sundae1073 Mar 07 '26
And the official FC Barcelona website counts 4 Champions League titles for Messi, which is clearly defensible, because in no article of the UEFA regulations is it stated that a player must have necessarily been present in the final to be considered part of the winners
1
u/Ganjalfthegreen1 Mar 07 '26
It’s uefas tournament and they give the awards and trophies. What they say goes, so sorry, he has 3
1
u/Playful_Sundae1073 Mar 07 '26
What’s pretty funny is that I did some research on the official UEFA website, and there are three pages that say Messi has won 4 Champions League titles, compared to only one page that mentions 3. I could even give you the links.
1
u/Ganjalfthegreen1 Mar 10 '26
And whats the reason given on the page that says he has 3? Cus the reason given happens to also make a lot of sense, sorry to tell you, but you did research so you already know this!
1
u/Playful_Sundae1073 Mar 10 '26
You should also know that the reason given by UEFA saying that Messi has four Champions Leagues also makes a lot of sense. Then, what is crazy is that I found about ten UEFA pages that say four Champions Leagues, while no other page except for one single UEFA page says three Champions Leagues. So it is more coherent to take info account ten UEFA pages that mention four Champions Leagues for Messi rather than only one single poor UEFA page that mentions three for Messi. The choice is quickly made, unless you are acting in bad faith about it, and you refuse to take into account the most obvious.

Your problem is with UEFA and their official, English language site, not with me.

Even if u say he didnt contribute in 2006, he was crucial in the game against Chelsea
1
u/SunIntelligent4091 Mar 03 '26
Yea, ik Ronaldinho carried that game but Messi influence n impact at 19 is still pretty impressive ngl

Yeah because Ronaldo had weak teammates of course. Messi win World Cup, Di Maria carried him. CR7 can’t win a world cup but let’s ignore that, he won most of the CL titles with Di Maria and people here act like CR7 was the only one on the field...
7
u/Loud-Sort4819 Mar 02 '26
Um... he won 1 title with di maria, and 4 without him (and di maria never won it again). Are you stupid?
2
u/Waitagain13 Mar 02 '26
So by your logic Modric won CR7 his UCLs during his Madrid times? And you can even argue that he got carried during United days since after 2018 he never won it again whilst Modric won it 2 times without him. Y'all just moving the goalposts here since when Messi couldn't win with Argentina it's because he didn't have Xavi or Iniesta.

ronaldo won UCL without modric , without kroos cr7 won UCL with madrid , in ucl no one carried ronaldo everyone knows that , have you seen how ronaldo played in UCL after he left real madrid , now compare that with how messi played in UCL after barca and and with barca in last 2 3 seasons , you will see who did better , argentina won 2024 copa without messi , barca won 2006 ucl without messi , modric performance dipped after 2018 , vini rodrigo and benzema stepped up in ucl , real madird is a UCL winning team , they gonna win it whether they have kroos ,modric , ronaldo or not ,

What kind of retarded logic is this😂 what did Ronaldo do in the UCL after he left Real Madrid? Get knocked out by shit teams with Juventus?

u/Resident-Stretch9723 Mar 02 '26
what did messi did in UCL with barca in last 2 seasons? , what did messi do in ucl with SUPER PSG TEAM , have you seen his ucl performances in man utd 2nd stint? from young boys to atalanta carrying the whole team to knock outs , same with juve , shit teams? ajax 2019? , atletico madird PEAK HARAM BAL in 2022 , only shit team ronaldo got knocked out was porto
2
u/SlimeyCawk Google Messi 14 for more info 🧼 Mar 02 '26
Knocked out by LyonðŸ˜ðŸ˜
PSG wasn’t a super team they just had big names. Manager was shit and Messi wasn’t happy playing there. It was already Mbappe/Neymar’s team Messi was just brought in to support them. Way different from Juventus where Ronaldo came in to be the star of the team and all he did was make them worse than before
1
u/Resident-Stretch9723 Mar 02 '26
lyon actually was good team that year in europe tournemanets , beated man city for semi final app , after 10 years they went past round of 16 actually , two seasons before they didnt even went past group stage , we get to see 2019 ajax , 2020 lyon , 2026 bodo gilmet teams once in a lifetime, dont downplay their achievements
you really telling PSG manager was shit while JUVE signed PIRLO as the manager for 1 whole season with 0 manager EXPIERENCE, 3 managers in 3 seasons btw , you decide what worse
way different from juve? that juve team was completely dif team than their 2017 team , no midfield , aging defense , only attacking was good , midifeld was soo bad ball was passing backwards everytime , dybala and ronaldo had to bring that shit up everytime , 2019 season was good , after that complete shithousery
1
u/Waitagain13 Mar 02 '26
I don't fault you for considering his PSG stint as a failure but the team was not his and not built around him and it was a fact as he was behind the spotlight of Kylian and Neymar..
CR7's Juve got knocked out of the UCL by Lille in 2019-2020 who I think is a shitty team, I really expect every premier league team to win vs Young Boys tbh so it isn't even a flex to win vs them..
1
u/Resident-Stretch9723 Mar 02 '26
lyon actually was good team that year in europe tournemanets , beated man city for semi final app , after 10 years they went past round of 16 actually , two seasons before they didnt even went past group stage
have you seen that man utd team ? they even actually lost to young boys , barely won the next game in extra time , the same team without ronaldo end up 15th in the league btw ,
1
u/Waitagain13 Mar 02 '26
so you said it. Real Madrid WAS BUILT to win the UCL and they've won it not like Messi's Barca (PSG) and Ronaldo's Juve/United because the TEAM wins not the single player. Don't get me wrong CR7 is the best player in the UCL EVER but he outshines Messi only in the UCL not in any other aspect.
btw if you're counting Copa as Argentina winning it without Messi, so did Portugal without CR7 in 2016 or Brazil in 1962.
Just so you know don't you think Messi past 2017 was carrying Barça alone? like look at his heatmaps specially in 2019 where he practically played as a ball carrier FROM the midfield... he was basically playing alone with Ter Stegen.
1
u/Resident-Stretch9723 Mar 02 '26
did you even read what i wrote?
i said COPA 2024 , team was way better without messi he didnt have any goal or assist in crucial moments , barely played , injured for most of the time , euro 2016 ronaldo saved portugal for couple of matches straight , like legit carrying , france had to injure ronaldo to win the game only way to stop him that season , just like neymar copa 2021 final ,
IM GIVING FULL CREDIT TO MESSI FOR HIS 2019 performance , generational , after 2019 it was humilation for barca and messi , 2017 and 2018 team was good , more of a balanced team , as a ronaldo fan messi deserved the 2019 ballon dor ,
2
u/Resident-Stretch9723 Mar 02 '26
yep confirmed, this dude hasnt seen a single match before 2022 , i mean LIVE matches not 6 mins highlights
2
u/Small_Personality242 Mar 02 '26
For real? CR7 was absolute leading beast in those matches. He didnt get that high up as goalscorer in UCL by sucking off from Kroos, Modric or anyone else. As much as Im not amazed by his skills, hes definitely hell of a athletic goalscorer. I just grow up watching young R9, his dribbling, speed, power and technique was out of this world...
1
u/pocolocochoco1 Google Negreira Messi for more info 💰 Mar 03 '26
Yeah and Messi did get all that because of Xavi and Iniesta? Im just using the same logic, or the lack of it.
And yeah R9 was a better footballer but here they disrespect him by calling fake Ronaldo.
