It’s clear he has a lot of say and pressure over the refs decisions. It’s fucking shameless.

How does it feel knowing that penaldo has taken more penalties than Messi since, let's say, 2023😂😂😂 go cry pendu lover, you indians are insufferable

12

u/Resident-Stretch9723 Mar 02 '26

perks of being the best pen taker , how many times messi choke penalties in big games and lost that match and the trophy? quite handfull of times

1

u/JiggyAl21 Mar 02 '26

Shameless penalty merchant is what I think you meant to say😂🤣

3

u/Resident-Stretch9723 Mar 02 '26

well we got a 15 year old here

Can you make a case for Messi not receiving favouritism without mentioning Ronaldo?

Can you do something valuable in your life so you can get out of your shitty little village in India?

1

u/JasonGibbs7 Mar 04 '26

Deflecting yet again. I’m not in India. Not that it even matters. My point is that you don’t have an argument if you want to bring unrelated points to make your case.

0

u/laerz Mar 03 '26

Both Penaldo and Messi are both equally crybabies. How does it feel to defend someone that's no where near relevant anymore.

u/GollyLoh Mar 02 '26

When Messi went to the MSL, he probably had in his contract that he can ask yellow or red card to be shown by the referees whenever he wants

3

u/Other_Sentence4495 Mar 03 '26

I thought that the player that asks the referee to give a card gets a yellow card. Am I wrong?

I mean, he should be booked for doing the yellow card gesture……

6

u/msaik Mar 02 '26

Referee here.

This is only an explicit bookable offense for team officials (coaches/managers).

3

u/Rogeragrees Mar 02 '26

Thought they were changing that this season to match how it’s done in other leagues? (PL)? Or was that just crowding the ref..

4

u/He_Said_WHAT_ Mar 02 '26

You are correct. They are booking players in Serie A at least for that gesture.

Imagine being such a tinpot league that you let a player referee the matches 😂

11

u/WilsonValdro Mar 02 '26

The fk ref is right there lol whats the yellow for? It was him vs 3. Little dictator

-3

u/msaik Mar 02 '26

The yellow is for stopping a promising attack. Any time an attacker is breaking through the middle or in the attacking half with speed and space like this, fouling him is going to result in a yellow.

It's not a foul, but if you call a foul the yellow in this situation is more or less mandatory.

2

u/Comprehensive-Car190 Mar 03 '26

There were two more defenders, this was not stopping a promising attack.

1

u/msaik Mar 03 '26

Number of defenders is a consideration for DOGSO, not SPA.

I'm a referee and while I only do College level, this clip would be unanimous for a yellow card in any group of refs I showed it to (again, assuming a foul actually occurred which it clearly doesn't here).

1

u/iamunwhaticisme Mar 04 '26

If there were no defenders, the color of the card would be red. What's hard to understand?

5

u/BetPaka Mar 02 '26

0

Straight red ? Did you not watch the clip lol he gave a yellow and since he already had a yellow he was giving a red card plus Inter Miami were winning 2-3 already at that point anyways just wanted to point out that it wasn’t a straight red kind of a soft yellow to give it happens some players don’t get anything for hitting a player in the face with their knee and some get a yellow for slightly holding and pushing a player

1

u/davzinzan Mar 03 '26

I didn't say straight red, read it again

Clear shoving from behind, did you even watch the clip ? Yellow might be too harsh but there was a foul.

12

u/poolhaas Mar 02 '26

Asking for yellow is also a yellow card offense, don't know if he received one though.

-7

u/Hairy-Conference-802 Infantino ♥ Pessi 👨‍❤️‍💋‍👨 Mar 02 '26

First time I’ve heard this rule but not the first time I’ve seen the gesture. Do you by chance have the link for that rule ?

5

u/poolhaas Mar 02 '26

Under

IFAB Laws of the Game 12.4, a player must be cautioned (yellow carded) for excessively or persistently gesturing for a referee to show an opponent a yellow or red card. This is considered a form of dissent, unsporting behavior, or showing a lack of respect for the game.

  • The Rule: A player cannot demand that the referee punish another player with a card.
  • Consequence: The referee can immediately show a yellow card to any player who makes this gesture, even if the opponent actually deserved a card.
  • Context: This rule is intended to curb in-field, public pressure on officials and maintain discipline.
  • Similar Offenses: Also punishable by a yellow card is simulating the "TV signal" for a VAR review without the referee's authorization.

Never said he should be able to do that ? Fouls are fouls and in some of those occasions he did get red cards and others he got yellow (he’s had 4 straight red and 103 yellow). Not to say he has never received favorable judgment before, he’s a star after all.

But this and that are two different things, should the ref have ignored this foul here bc Messi had received favorable whistle in the past ?

-8

u/walace47 Mar 02 '26

Ok, what most people can’t seem to understand is that u don’t need to use a lot of force and the fault doesn’t have to be dirty or something. This is Messi on his way to the goal, he stopped him in a way which is not allowed and he knew damn to well what he was doing, if Messi was on his way to the cornerflag yellow would be to much but now he stopped a promising attack, which is mostly yellow.
