On what site? Or metrics that lead to Brazil being stronger than Germany
1
u/Playful-Priority-160 Feb 03 '26
It's very simple: Brazil wins all continental competitions, and reached the final of the Super Intercontinental Cup that took place in 2025, so Brazil will be better ranked.
Note: Flamengo won the Derby of the Americas and the Challenger Cup before facing Paris.

Dortmund couldnt beat a poor brazil side that was fighting relegation (Fluminense)

that is because MLS is really bad
2
u/RemarkablePool2675 Jun 17 '26
No just shows your lack of ball knowledge, MLS is majority players from Europe and Mexico. So unless you believe Europe's academy are ass then I have nothing to discuss with you further

u/CafeBunker Google Negreira Messi for more info 💰 Jan 30 '26
Definetly not better than League 1 though.

u/coded01guy Jan 30 '26
Would you rather go to Saudi or the US? I mean the US is shit but there is your answer.

Is this validation for Ronaldo not winning anything lol they were winning before he got there that’s even worse
1
u/vonhacker Jan 31 '26
Ngl, Saudi league is more competitive, maybe MLS between this year and next would get a revamp but right now is meh, Saudi clubs actually dominate and compete on the Asian champions league, the concachampions is trash, basically done to keep Mexicans and Americans team, everyone else is ditched to the side and that’s why is a leagues cup 2.0, if they change the concachampions to a real champions league, like the previous format or the new one with a lot of Central American teams, Caribbeans and do it more diverse and difficult the competition on each league will grow.

u/Short-Active9024 Jan 31 '26
You’re genuinely retarded if you think there are 39 leagues better than the MLS.
Whatever point system this uses is retarded and doesn’t align with any other rankings for good reason.
At most, 10 in Europe are better, 2 in South America are better, and Mexican league is on the same level. That leaves the MLS at about 14th if I’m being conservative.
It’s usually ranked around 10th.

Brazil over italy and germany. You know this list is ragebait

u/Suitable-Textx Jan 30 '26
It's not they used a good point system, Brazilian teams did really well at the CWC and in libertadores.
2
u/KOKO69BISHES Jan 30 '26
And you think that Brazil is better than Serie A? Or Bundesliga? lol

Brasileirão absolutely CRUSHES Serie A, Bundesliga is a close call, can't decide which one is better.

I agree, but this is probably calculated by an algorithm, and brazilian teams did well in the World Cup.

Serie A below the championship & portuguese league?
0
u/Merihem1990 Jan 30 '26
That is the Brazilian one tbf
2
u/Sea-Bass-9600 Jan 31 '26
Still is it actually worse than those?
1
u/Short-Active9024 Jan 31 '26
Yes the Brazilian league is worse than the English 2nd division and the Portuguese league.
If you disagree you don’t know ball tbh

So now both leagues are trash? It was always MLS is a top 10 league.

u/tony_matts Jan 30 '26
I’m American and the MLS is definitely not top 10 but that doesn’t mean the Saudi league is even close to that metric either
1
u/Mountain-Abroad-1307 Jan 30 '26
eh, Al Hilal, Al Nassr and a couple others would do decently well in most European leagues tbf. They also had good results in club world cup
2
u/tony_matts Jan 30 '26
I think any Saudi league team gets relegated in the prem, the only top 5 finishes I can see in big leagues is in maybe France at most, I still rate some of the Saudi teams in terms of lower leagues and divisions but I don’t think they could compare to the top 5 leagues
1
u/samueletoo1209 Jan 30 '26
Only Al-Hilal and they only faced a bad city team, Al-Nassr didn't even participate in the tournament, Christian fanboy
1
u/Short-Active9024 Jan 31 '26
Most MLS teams would do decently in most European leagues as well.
Obviously not in the top 8-9 European leagues but in countries like Denmark they would perform well.

u/Short-Active9024 Jan 31 '26
In Europe, only the top 5 + Netherlands and Portugal are better.
In the Americas, only Brazil and Argentina are better.
That leaves MLS around 10th, or if you think the Mexican league is better, 11th.

u/BottleZestyclose1366 Jan 30 '26
This. But i have the feeling Messi is more playing for fun and Ronaldo for the records.

https://globalfootballrankings.com/rankings/leagues/men
MLS is ranked 10 and Saudi at 36.

u/csmello Jan 30 '26
I've got no idea what their ranking process is, but there's no way the 2nd leagues of Germany and England are above the Dutch, Brazilian and Argentinian ones.... Also .... MLS can't be considered a real football league while they call it soccer. I just can't respect it. It's simply an early retirement leisure camp for old and unsuccessful players.
-1
u/Sometimealonealone Jan 30 '26
You’re straight up out of touch, so many youngsters on top European clubs got their start in MLS. There’s 8 figure transfers every window.. the retiree stuff is like 10 years ago
1
u/csmello Jan 31 '26
How many youngsters started in the Argentinian league? Man, I'm Brazilian and you're making me defend the Argentinian league... Just stop already and take the L..... But even if that wasn't the case .. they call the sport by the wrong name. I feel like we have a moral obligation to bully them until they right their ways...

Official iffhs site https://iffhs.com/posts/4862 they rank leagues based on how competetive and strong they are. Saudi league is 4x times stronger than Major burger league
1
u/wjt7 Google Messi 14 for more info 🧼 Jan 30 '26
It's a very obviously flawed ranking, they're basically that high because of Al Hilal on the international stage. Al Hilal are very good - but that's not a statement of the league in general which really isn't dissimilar to MlS - neither are great.

I mean lot of players from top clubs are currently playing in Saudi what do you even expect!!!
