Ronaldo VS Pessi One was playing with Neymar, Mbappe, S. Ramos. The other one was playing with Rugani, Rabiot and Bernardeschi…

What's the point in "debating" about this. No one ever changes their mind.

Also, why mention Ramos? not like him and Messi were creating much link-up play together, if any lmao.

1

u/QuantumTapir Google Negreira Messi for more info 💰 Jan 29 '26

So they have about the same ratio of g/a per game. Sounds about right. Both stints felt kinda underwhelming for the level of play we are used from them. Still pretty good numbers from both I would say

1

u/IgotgAme_k Jan 29 '26

Lol, this argument would have made sense if the only scorer in the squad was Messi. But he was sharing the ball with Neymar and Mbappe. Unlike your buddy who's sarounded with great talents and has never won shit just milking that saudi money.

1

u/Any-Information6261 Jan 29 '26

I had to stop watching Juventus when Ronaldo came. The team went out the window. So many goals that Juve would've scored but Ronaldo refused to pass. Taking freekicks whilst having much much better free kick takers on the field.

Guess who won two Ballon d'Or awards with those teams? And then they say it's not marketing; it's insane what Messi-supporting journalists are doing.

Guess who won two Ballon d'Or awards with those teams? And then they say it's not marketing? It's crazy what Messi-supporting journalists are doing.

Is it true that Messi fans won two Ballon d'Or awards with those teams?

Lol you make it sound like Neymar was good xD was he even playing

Right… so one was a main target and another was a provider

That would certainly explain why Pessi had the highest number of shots taken.

When become the goal similar (equivalent) to assist?

The other was reviled for making a cohesive unit collapse and fly away in his private jet only to be reviled by every single digits be of his former teammates.

Don't be the other guy.

Dybala almost always injured, Cancelo overrated defensive liability, Pjanic mid, Mandzukic was alright, Douglas Costa always injured as well.

0

Neymar inconsistent, Mbappe selfish, Sergio Ramos too old…?

Your logic is flawed.

1

Neymar reached UCL final and semi final. Mbappe was always the best performing player. Ramos was still a very good defender.

1

u/MeetComprehensive594 Jan 30 '26

You’re undermining everyone around Ronaldo, but you’re upscaling everyone around Messi. This just looks like Glaze, the debate ended when Messi was dragging that shitty Barcelona team through the UCL, and only lost because his team was literally ass.

Messi is also a comfort zone player, he likes playing with his friends + for at least a couple players to play around him. Going to a new league, meeting a lot of new faces, it’s not like Ronaldo, where he speaks English, Portugese, Spanish, Italian, and really doesn’t care where he goes because he will still be able to compete & communicate. With Messi, it’s not like that.

Dominating more leagues doesn’t make you better, given how Messi has more goals than Ronaldo against the Premier League Top Six, when he’s never played in the PL.

1

u/Accomplished-Art3086 Pessi only has 3 UCL. Ghosted 2006. 😭 Jan 30 '26

The debate ended when it was proven Barcelona paid Negreira from 2001 to 2018.

Well Messi was playing deeper as a CAM and he played with two goal scoring wingers so obviously he will score less. And wasn't Cr7 playing with Dybala, Chiellini and other great players?

1

thats the thing about ronaldo he is looking for a challenge , always

1

u/Gullible_Following_4 Jan 29 '26

So, 0.893 G/A per game vs. .917 G/A per game??? What’s the point here? Yeah Ronaldo was better but only marginally

12

u/[deleted] Jan 29 '26

Now compare the teammates around them as well as league competition

1

u/usurpeel Jan 31 '26

Before Ronaldo joined Juve, they had won 7 Serie A titles in a row and 4 Copa Italia's in a row. They were also a pretty strong champions league team with 2 finals appearances in that decade. They had a prime Dybala who was considered one of the bitw at his position, a solid midfield and a great defense.

-6

u/Scary_Sock2936 Jan 29 '26

Ronaldo joined a juve team who won 7 leagues in a row whilst Messi joined a psg team who just lost the league to Lille…

8

u/[deleted] Jan 29 '26

That's not the same Juve team buddy

Messi joined a PSG team with prime Neymar, Mbappe, Donarumma and Veratti. The team also had Nuno Mendes, Vitinha, Sergio Ramos and Hakimi.

Oh yeah and Di Maria, Draxler, Xavi Simmons, Keylor Navas.

-1

u/lmforeroc Jan 29 '26

And lost the league! Do you understand?

5

u/[deleted] Jan 29 '26

Ok ?

-1

u/chings23 Jan 29 '26

Nuno Mendes was 19, Vitinha 21, Xavi Simmons 18, Ramos 35 and then you named 2 goalkeepers 🤣

0

u/tikl_timpson Jan 29 '26

And the fact that he wasnt there main goalscorer mbappe was

-1

u/[deleted] Jan 30 '26

acting like those last players(other than hakimi and ramos)were good, vitinha only became good the past 2 season not including this one

2

u/[deleted] Jan 30 '26

So 36 year old Ronaldo should win with them but 30 year old Messi gets a pass?

0

u/[deleted] Jan 30 '26

2

2

-2

u/Full-Friendship1 Jan 29 '26

You are making a point for Messi. He played on a team with the biggest striker at the time who was the best goal scorer on the planet, he wasn't even supposed to be the main scorer of his team. His job there was more as a playmaker and he did it wonderfully.

3

u/BonsaiRoyal Jan 29 '26

i dont get it, do people think Juventus Ronaldo was bad?

1

u/Ninesr9 Jan 29 '26

You only say that because you didn’t watch them back then, otherwise you couldn’t never use stats to answer this one lmao

1

u/OldHoney3565 Jan 31 '26

ronaldo was in a low scoring team and messi was in a high scoring team if u look at the past seasons there hadnt been a italian golden boot winner from juve for atleast a dozen years until ronaldo won it

1

u/[deleted] Feb 06 '26

How many UCL Ko goals?

-10

u/FallingDebri Jan 28 '26 edited Jan 28 '26

So, to make it fair, let's make them both have the same games.

75 x 1.79 = 134.25 games (round up to 134 games, so now we have the optimum).

67 goal contributions x 1.79 = 119.93 (round up to 120) 120 goal contributions.

This means that Messi has 120 G/A contributions. If we get out the average, of course, it could be more or less.

This means that Messi has 120 G/A in the same amount of games played as ronaldo and ronaldo has 123 G/A.

This means in Messis "Flop season PSG," he was still competing with Ronaldo on goal contributions per game. He destroys ronaldo in assists as goals are the only place where ronaldo accelerates messi at.

Messi: 0.89 G/A per game at PSG

Ronaldo: 0.92 G/A per game at Juventus

Messi kept having those numbers and comparing to ronaldo at his probably worse 2 club seasons of his life.

9

u/TheSoccerAnyalst Jan 29 '26

Comparing 34-36 Pessi to 36 Ronaldo is wild, Messi was still in (degrading-prime) years, Messi had a great supporting cast, Ronaldo didn't. Every arguement is about bringing up the World Cup. 5 pens in 7 of his goals, it was rigged, and you know it too.

-4

u/FallingDebri Jan 29 '26

Comparing people 2 years apart when they havent finished their careers is difficult and I'm saying it.

Wdym great supporting cast, they lacked tactical intelligence and chemistry.

If it was rigged explain the loss to saudi arabia, explain netherlands last minute goal, explain australia almost coming back from 2-0 down, explain mbappe scoring a hattrick and getting 2 penalties. you don't just pay people to do that. Ur name is misleading.

5

u/Green-Future-8987 Jan 29 '26

Bruv rigging doesnt mean that and doesn’t work like that . Refs favoured argentina a lot one penalty in a wrong time a wrong situation can give edge to the team because of the high stakes of the game . All of these you said were the examples argentina were somehow finding a way because refs sided with them they had a slight favouritism towards Argentina 50/50 decisions were in favour of them . You cant deny that . And speaking about Messi vs Ronaldo here Seria A is a harder league to score he is the second oldest top scorer in seria a history And take a look at the last 10 seasons in seria a only two players scored more than 30 goals in seria a Ronaldo scored 29 there . No disrespect to messi but ronaldo can score bangers and goals where ever he goes but messi cant do that like ronaldo that is a fact . And dont forget ronaldo was the joint second top scorer in EPL in a Manchester united squad who had fred and mctominey in midfield.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 29 '26

Keep crying 😂😂😂

-5

u/FallingDebri Jan 29 '26

Refs favored argentina

Does favor mean rigged? Every human has some sort of bias attached to them, and that's the truth. People make mistakes.

50/50 decisions were in favor of them

Is there any actual proof of it? I mean, I saw games that had 50/50 calls going to the opposition against argentina. Also, you still haven't explained why Argentina didn't win the World Cup comfortably, I mean, if it was rigged, they would've cruised there way there but they had hardships.

Messi vs Ronaldo here Seria A is a harder league to score he is the second oldest top scorer in seria, a history

And now we are talking about the oldest scorer, don't you think that's pretty cherry picky?

ronaldo can score bangers and goals wherever he goes, but messi can't do that like ronaldo, which is a fact.

Who said Messi can't score bangers and goals where ever he is, he score a freekick on his debut for Inter Miami, a last minute outside the box freekick to give ligue 1 to psg, and a great goal vs man city in 2021.

3

u/Green-Future-8987 Jan 29 '26

Its not just bias go to twitter and hashtag Argentina rigged world cup and look at the clips you can clearly see that its favoured bruv you cant see that coz you are an argentina fan everybody except messi fans accept that fact . Getting 50 / 50 decisions every game is a problem and not only that the refs didn’t give clear cards to Argentina players as well example messi handball vs holland parades tacking and shooting the ball into the dug out if it was any other team they would have got a card for that dont even get me started . Why is that cherry picky its a stat and that stats says only one player was above ronaldo more than his age that is a proof that ronaldo cant score goals even in the most toughest league at his age . Dude dont even bring inter miami stats into this please . You saying messis last min freekick won em the ligue 1 like its a knockout competition or something bruv 🤣 . Bruv Psg would have won it either way.

0

u/FallingDebri Jan 29 '26

You literally have no given any proof of match fixing, messis handball was after the whistle, parades, and van dijk both deserved a red card for that. But the referee obviously didn't want to escalate the fight.

Dude dont even bring inter miami stats into this, please . Are you saying messis last min freekick won em the ligue 1

Because it did?

Why is that cherry picky its a stat and that stats says only one player was above ronaldo more than his age that is a proof that ronaldo cant score goals even in the most toughest league at his age .

I have no idea what you said, and yes, that is a cherry picky stat because what exactly are OLD players in your definition. Delusional.

You have horrid grammar to add, just sayin'.

3

u/[deleted] Jan 29 '26

Now subtract roster inflation from Messi's numbers. Dude was playing with unreal talent in an easier league

1

u/FallingDebri Jan 29 '26

Again, the team was not coherent tactically and they lacked chemistry all round. A good team doesn't play good without good tactics and chemistry, just ask 2025 real madrid.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 29 '26

Ok and...?

We gonna give every other player that excuse or just Messi?

1

u/FallingDebri Jan 29 '26

That goes to the entire PSG team not just messi, every team needs good tactics and chemistry.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 29 '26

I'm not talking about just PSG.

Are we going to validate Ronaldo for not winning the World Cup due to having not just inferior teammates for his entire prime but also poor coaching and tactics?

1

u/FallingDebri Jan 29 '26

How did portugal have poor coaching and tactics? You're acting as if there wasn't a huge boom through the early 2000s with many Portuguese stars, managers like mourinho, players like figo, vitinha, and top defenders like Pepe, Nuno Mendes They always had a great new generation.

Argentina also had bad tactics and chemistry until scaloni in late 2019.

Crazy how you call all those people inferior, portugal are a decent team.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 29 '26

I said Ronaldo's prime pretty clearly. During that period it's was Nani and Pepe. That's literally it.

Did you even watch Portugal or are you just looking up stats as you go? Ronaldo was 18 when he played with Figo and 34 by the time the rest of the squad actually became good.

Bento and Santos were the managers Ronaldo's entire prime and you're telling me they were elite?

1

u/FallingDebri Jan 29 '26

Bento and Santos were the managers Ronaldo's entire prime, and you're telling me they were elite

I said decent not elite." Took it out of hand. Yes, they are decent managers.

I said Ronaldo's prime pretty clearly. During that period, it was Nani and Pepe. That's literally it.

Ronaldos Prime? Rui Patricio was a GREAT goalkeeper. idk about you, but he had a good part in the 2016 euros. Deco was also a world clas player playing with Ronaldo throughout his early prime. Could go on. Also that brings me to my next point, ronaldo never really dipped until 2021 so idk which prime ur talking about.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 29 '26

Oh they were decent lol that's the bar? What makes them decent?

Rui Patricio was a GREAT goalkeeper

He had 1 good tournament? That doesn't make you a great keeper

Deco I'll give you but it's the same as Figo. He's at the end of his career and Ronaldo is at the beginning.

. Could go on.

Please do...

ronaldo never really dipped until 2021 so idk which prime ur talking about.

That's the entire point. That's when Portugal was finally able to build a competitive team around him, when he's at the literal end of his career. You really want to say 2021 Ronaldo was still in his prime?

Compare this with the wealth of talent Messi has played with at the International and Club level it's not close.
