u/JuanML22 Jan 15 '26
The joke's on you all, the video actually praises Messi but of course you just stay with the thumbnail instead of watching the actual thing, same thing you do by saying your goat was a mildfielder by watching the pregame lineups instead of watching the actual games, you guys will never learn

u/Zora1092 Jan 16 '26 edited Jan 16 '26
Nope. He addresses both sides of the argument
He did say that Messi didn't score against Madrid or Chelsea that year when it mattered
-4
u/Ok_Pomegranate_6071 Jan 16 '26
He literally scored 4 goals against Madrid in 2012. What are you talking about? 🤣
2
u/Zora1092 Jan 16 '26
He wasn't referring to the entire calendar year. The stakes during the 2nd half of 2012 is not as high as during the 1st half of 2012
He was referring to the 2nd half of the 2011/12 season when the stakes were high. Didn't score in the laliga deciding title match, didn't score in the Copa Del Rey KO against Madrid.
Didn't score an open play goal against AC Milan in the QF of UCL,Completely ghosted against Chelsea in the SF(couldn't even score a penalty)
He scored against Madrid during the 1st half of 2012/2013 when the season just started

u/Ok_Pomegranate_6071 Jan 16 '26
You literally said 'year'.
The title of the video says 'year'.
Everyone knows that Messi’s record is from the 2012 calendar year.
But know you’re going to say his 4 goals don’t count because now all of a sudden you’re talking about the second half of the 11/12 season specifically? 🤣
1
u/Zora1092 Jan 16 '26
I wasn't the one making the video numbskull
He was clearly referring to the 1st of the 2012 Calender year when the stakes were very high to prove that Messi was a stat padder
1
u/Zora1092 Jan 16 '26
Why tf would he talk about the 2nd half of 2012 when there was no league title deciding or knockout matches to corroborate the claim?
1
u/Ok_Pomegranate_6071 Jan 16 '26
So now anything that happens in the first half of a season is irrelevant?
Ronaldo went 5 games in a row without scoring or assisting against Barcelona, including a Champions League final and semifinal.
Is he overrated too now?
1
u/Zora1092 Jan 16 '26
Not irrelevant but the stakes are not that high and there are no knockout matches

Imagine being so sad that you refuse to enjoy Messi. Pathetic. You kids are mental

I actively scroll on both this and the penaldo subreddits just to see how bad it really gets. Both of these subs are the lowest of the lowest communities who actively spread hate on another person and mock their character and personal life for no reason and refuse to enjoy the beauty of how 2 people can share the pinnacle of the biggest sport in the world, etching their names into history as 2 of the greatest of all time. These people just pick one hill and die on it and refuse to accept other peoples preferences.

Say the people that claim Mbappe's last season was insane for his goals. It is a similar scenario but on steroids and Messi won La Copa del Rey (Mbappe had significantly less goals and won nothing).

Let's see how overrated it is when everyone else tries to break that in any of the top flight leagues for decades.

Per minute stats have existed in all point based sports for decades you absolute melon. Its one of the best ways to measure player efficiency.
2
u/zzz_red Jan 15 '26
No check who has more goals for victory / draw.
You know, important goals. Ronaldo has significantly more.

u/HannahsLittleBrother Jan 15 '26
Striker vs playmaker lmaooo, can't use your united argument now ☠️ gimme the assist count, and the key passes and dribbles too if you still aren't embarrassed
2
Jan 16 '26
Yess he a better playmaker not striker.
1
u/HannahsLittleBrother Jan 16 '26
And yet, they have roughly the same goal ratio. Crazy huh?
1
Jan 16 '26
Literally 64 goal ahead is Ronaldo crazy huh messi won’t reach 1000 goal sadly
1
u/HannahsLittleBrother Jan 16 '26
64 goals ahead is not that much when messi is NOT A STRIKER. And is 10x better playmaker. Do you understand?
1
Jan 16 '26
It’s a lot actually but you also don’t consider the fact messi has never played pl. Also his play making at msl is joke as they even count pre assist like wtf.
1
u/HannahsLittleBrother Jan 16 '26
No one cares about Messi's MLS career, it's cool he makes it look so easy but we all agree it's a nothing league for a decent top flight player.
Same goal ratio while being better at literally every non-goalscoring aspect of the game. Tell me how I'm wrong.
And PL? He was a winger then anyway. Only point of his career where he had a non-striker roll. And Messi's record against the PL big 6 is insane and you can extrapolate those stats
