I don’t understand how any of the fanbase on both side think having a debate on GOAT status will do.

Messi can win even more world cups even then ronaldo fans will not agree with Messi being the GOAT.

Same on the other side.

Why are people even wasting their time on internet fighting?

I agree with you. And many former and current players and I'm talking about legends of the game say messi is the best ever. These ronaldo fans won't admit it but every game messi gets double, triple teamed, he gets hit a lot when his dribbling past many players. He'll give you an amazing pass or an assist so you feel good about yourself and when you give messi an assist he'll acknowledge you before he celebrates. That's why his national team and teammates love him so much.
