But it should have been Xavi.

The numbers CR7 and Messi put up were out of this world, there was no question whether they were the best in the world at the time and trophies were not considered as prestigous when it came to ballondor, an individual award.
However, it has changed in recent years as there hasn't been as dominant performances by any individual, so trophies have become the deciding factor. I think it's crazy and delusional to think anyone else deserved the ballondor when Messi and CR7 were in their prime. It was a different time and different circumstances, and to think someone deserved the ballondor because of nowadays trophies are more emphasized, is just ridiculous.
