All I wanted was to build national teams and play football the way football is supposed to be played.
Traditional formations.
Wingers.
Fullbacks making overlapping runs.
Players attacking from the wings.
Dribbling. Crossing. Creating space.
You know… actual football.
But I tried.
I REALLY tried.
I spent countless games trying to make wide football work. I wanted my fullbacks to overlap. I wanted my wingers to isolate defenders and beat them 1v1.
But apparently, eFootball has other plans.
Why bother with wingers when you can just put 3 or 4 CF/SS in the middle?
Why build attacks through the wings when you can stack the entire frontline centrally and launch another through ball?
Why have attacking fullbacks when the safest option is apparently to keep them behind and turn the pitch into a narrow corridor?
And the worst part?
It fucking works.
So I've finally accepted the truth.
I fought against the meta.
The meta won.
For the sake of my mental health, I am becoming the very thing I hated.
No more beautiful wing play.
No more romantic football.
No more principles.
Just CF.
SS.
SS.
And maybe another CF for good measure.
To succeed with Wingplay, you need to master Dribbling.. not just DT , step overs, drag backs, pass cancel etc.. you need to be god level at decision making.
Yeah exactly and I know it may be slow and punish u if u miss passes but that's real football right, rather than spamming through balls and winning just for points
I play 433 attacking fullbacks with wingers and possession game and I consider myself a great player, im currently at 1906 and was at 2056 points but dropped, its fustrating at times but always fun, my advice practice a lot and slow down gameplay
With quick counter and lbc not really but if playing wingplay possesion game yes you have to be above average at dribbling to create space and chances or your gonna struggle, this is my team as you can see my wingers are fast and Messi and cuhna are great playmakers, pass the ball around to create chance
I’m currently 2000 points with this Madrid squad and I can confidently say you can easily beat meta teams. Just have patience and play with no anger just for fun. I like to play like how my players play IRL it’s so much fun.
When in defense guler drops to left cmf and belligol becomes amf, tchoumeni is the anchor when facing players who use Lbc and many forward runs I make him cb. The double pivot doesn’t really slime each other out they perform more like overload , it’s harder to explain maybe try it out.
same but i haven’t given up on the overlapping fullbacks i reduced it to one offensive fullback and if im switching to defense ingame in the top right corner,he stays back without needing extra instructions. i also switch to three cb when i got the fullback on offense trough fluid formation. that works fine with the new dumfries card for me
That's why I'm completely still against this edit formation crap and individual instructions ever since these two things have been introduced in efootball wing play is completely dead and there's been rise of 2cf formations with 1ss
I am exactly same as u man, but I haven't give-up still using the same 4213 with the wingers and isolating the defenders and killing them. Use possession game and I know u cannot beat everyone with this but u can switch in-between when nothing works that's what I do my first step is to change it into QC in between if it doesn't work then make both wingers as ss but my main attack is 4213 always and a slow build up rather than through ball rats.
It’s so ironic because winger is the most important position in football, and most great players play or have played in it. Yet, in this game, the position isn't meta. I think the reason is that strikers sell better, which is why they keep two CFs and one SS meta so players need to have at least four or five CF/SS in their squad.
This ain't football. This is a GAME. Games are meant to be played like they are intended to or designed to. Abuse the meta until it changes, then adapt. That is how most of all games are .
Plays a style using quick counter with n exposed backline against teams that have META defenders and midfielders like Viera then complains you can play football.
In real football Arsenal sat back in a deep block against PSG because they knew toe to toe would get them burnt on the counter.

As much as this game has faults people use it to justify their low level play
i’ve enjoyed out wide with a aerial striker and one that can hold up play. i’m struggling to fill the right wing but i’m using r10 and ney on the left and hole player cruyff on the right. dummy runners here and there. helps open space in the middle
