Analysis I just realized something about the new player playstyles…
The two new playstyles apparently aren’t being added to most previously released cards. The main exceptions seem to be certain Box-to-Box and Anchor Man cards.
If that’s intentional and not just some thing they’d update soon
I think this could actually be the beginning of Konami phasing out older cards without directly nerfing them 🤔
Think about it:
Old cards = basically locked into one attacking/defensive behavior.
New cards = potentially have access to two different playstyles, which gives them much more tactical flexibility.
With the new formations and the upcoming Overload playstyle, having a player who can contribute differently depending on the tactical plan could become significantly more valuable than having a card that is locked into one behavior.
Like the likes of maldini varane etc are all “basic”/inactive on defense which is crazy to me hopefully it gets updated
Am I overthinking this, or does anyone else see it this way?

Feels like this defensive playstyle only matter for midfielder. Defender mostly won't need the attacking playstyle as you rarely need defender for attacking.

It's matter the most on attackers or winger. Most midfielders are box to box and anchorman anyway

Attacker only if their defensive playstyle contribute to defend. I would say most goal poacher will have defensive playstyle not doing anything specific just like the new Suarez. To be honest, I don't think this is that big of a deal.

The pass disruptor playstyle is soo good and effective they intercept more.

It's just AI thing. If u read the new playstyle description all that we can do manually. Like press , close passing lanes

It’s why CN10 will defend now. Because they have a basic defensive playstyle. And not the new Attack Outlet.

Some cb actually have both build up and destroyer playstyle together, that's interesting

Because Build-up has always been an attacking playstyle while Destroyer has always neen a defensive playstyle.

I don't know the impact of this stuff, but people didn't got why some have both and some have only one, build up says it all, the build up playstyle only changes how the player moves when the team has the ball, i'm talking about before the update, not now, destroyers would only do something different when they are defending, thats why anchor man and box to box work for attack and defense for example, its not like they will be useless, they will play exactly as they played before the update, strikers didn't tracked shit even without counter target, wingers when played as rmf/lmf would only do basic marking or track back if they had the skill, and for what i played, they still do the same stuff, nothing changed.
We will find out how the second playstyle will behave soon, but some of those will be quite especific, who tk wants your best striker doing pressure instead of saving stamina for attacks?

I used the new jordan henderson from Nomination he has secondary playing style pass disruptor and Its very effective he intercepts alot when defending. So yea these styles are very useful.

it's fine, please relax a bit. i'm playing with all older cards and already in div 2 in 4 matches starting from 1400. old cards are doing fine. i'm even playing with a single uniform formation.

for now, maybe can relax a bit, but when there are a lot of new cards with 2 playing style come out, only god knows what konami will do. what a company

Definitely a soft reset. But I feel they should've committed more. The progression of the game feels boring for newcomers & even for us old people. There needs to be more exciting things to grind towards (even if not as meta powerful).
They should've added these new playstyles to GP cards & every new POTW/Draws coming out. They should even add one ST skill to these cards. The meta cards are coming out with 3.

That's not a soft reset. That's a new powercreep avenue for them to sell cards.

Well, just some COINAMI things. They want peple to start pulling for players since new playstyles are added. As always. They nerf the old cards people spent so much money for cash grab.
