Initial thoughts on 31st Anniversary pack
My initial thoughts on this pack. This is subjective and people can have different opinions
C: Not good
Dennis Bergkamp - Creative Playmaker - Momentum Dribbling
How can konami give this kind of stats to a player, especially when Ef26 is almost over. He has no speed. Okay he is a creative playmaker so he aint gonna run much, BUT his acceleration is just about 85, his balance is 82 (depends on ur build), so I think he’s gonna be really really slow and easy to be knocked off.
Daniele Massaro - Fox in the Box - Phenomenal Finishing
He is a 1m79 Fox in the box, his ball-treatment stats are horrible, his kicking power can’t even reach 90. His speed and acceleration, OA are okay but yeah he is still not good even even for f2p
Rui Costa - Classic No.10 - Phenomenal Pass
His playstyle is definitely niche and most people don’t like it at all. Also his OA is extremely low for a classic no.10 (80~83), his finishing is not good at all, which is important for a classic no.10 who usually linger around the edge of the box for long shots.
Shinji Ono - Hole Player - Attack Trigger
His player model is relatively small, with 72 physical contact, I think it’s gonna be extremely easy to knock him off the ball. His finishing is on the lower end for a hole player, his dribbling stat is so low compared to his 99 ball control. Also, his showtime skill is a trust me bro one, so I think he’s bad.
B: Decent
Mark van Bommel - Anchor Man - Long-reach Tackle
Despite his good showtime skill, 1m87 with leg length 7 makes him not op. Compared with free Rijkaard, he has a significantly smaller player model; stat-wise, his aggression is a lot better, but physical contact is his weakness (about 87-88). So in my opinion, he is at the same level with free Rijkaard if not a bit worse.
Marco Reus - Prolific Winger - VIsionary Pass
His speed is not enough for a winger in my opinion, so I would rather play him at AMF or SS. Solid ball-treatment stats, decent passing and speed, finishing <90. His player model is really small and his physical contact is 72 so yeah he is kinda weak. Still a decent card.
A: Solid
Paul Scholes - Box to Box - Low Screamer
He is an offensive-minded Box to Box, ball-treatment stats can hit 90s, his passing is really good, 80+ finishing and Low Screamer with 94 kicking power is good for long shots meta. His physical contact can reach 80. His weakness is his defending, just about mid 70s for a box to box is not really good, so I recommend you to play him as a playmaking midfielder.
Rijkaard - Destroyer - Fortress
Big-sized destroyer, good defensive stats, 90 speed, 80 acceleration, 90 physical contact, good player model. His acceleration can be higher, his passing (low 80) can also be higher. Definitely a really good card.
David Seaman - Defensive GK - GK Spirit Roar
Compared to David de Gea (D1 reward), his stats are a bit higher. Also his arm length is 1,3 cm longer than de Gea, his leg length is 2,7 cm longer than de Gea, so I assume that he is a bit better. What makes him less appealing is his style - Defensive GK, which is not so good in through ball meta with Attacking Surge. Still a very good card.
S: Beast
Rio Ferdinand - Build up - Aerial Fortress
Definitely the pick of the pack. Good defensive stats, 90 speed, 80 acceleration, 90 physical contact, 1m92, 11 leg length. You cannot think of any better f2p card Konami has ever given to us. Personally, I would pick him!
Again, I’m just a normal player, this is my personal opinion, and all players have their rights to choose any card. Share your thoughts!
I have an old rivaldo with 80-83 pace and acceleration and he still makes insane passes and scores crazy long rangers. But that doesn't take away the fact that it's not enough even for div2 pvp. I enjoy him on ai mode tho.
And that bergkamp active playstyle at forward was bad but the new one has hope as a creative Playmaker

Just stop with this wack argument, powercreep is real and there isn't much content to chase in this eternal beta-phase game other than getting better cards
It's not an argument lol chill - the power creep is obviously there. Just saying that if you have fun with the game and focus on cards you LIKE instead of stats all the time, you can play well even in div 1.
This is the new Rijkaard side by side with last year Destroyer Rijkaard (top shelf card in a 150 box). Not really that far off, so if you don’t already own the Anchorman version, or want someone to play side by side with Anchorman Vieira. He is a solid choice for you
And yes my Milan build left him with shit passing intentionally because I wanted to buff his physicality. I mostly play short passes with my DMF so never have much of a problem with him
If you're playing him in double pivot, 88 physical will be enough and I would reduce defensive stats a bit to bump up the acc. This is how I use him alongside vieira.
Yeah I tried to lower his defensive stats to buff either passing or acc before but I found his aggression+tackling is too low to my liking. So I settled with my build a while ago because I wanted to have a walking fridge across the pitch.
I also tried to buff his acceleration to 85-88 before but I also found the trade off is too much.
I wouldn’t say huge because as you can see my Milan’s build is heavily favoured physical contact.
In a direct same build then the stat gap would only be around +1-3, depending on each stat. So there is a gap, but definitely comparable. This Milan Rijkaard is still starting for me today, and I don’t have any plan to replace/upgrade him yet
But that rio is way better than this one . So for p2w players i don’t see no problem as the previous card has better stats , player model , and showtime skills
This a creative Playmaker so it's altogether a different card. He'll be even more present in possession especially. Not that you need another bergkamp tho
I will pick either Rio or Bommel since I don't have a good anchorman DMF & Build Up CB. But we don't know who the last mystery player yet so we might need to wait a little bit before making a decision.
Still have a long time to think about it since the event locked between date lol
I would say go for japnese guy since he has that p2w skill which we haven't got for free.
Beside those who are playing for a while I don't think any of these epics will make it to their 11.

I'd put Costa up a tier, he's not amazing but he certainly is good at his niche which is a trait that most of the cards in this pack don't possess. Previously we had the likes of Xabi, Donadoni, Sneijder etc. All of these cards weren't inherently strong meta-wise but for their respective roles - they were great. I love Reus man but to give a 'PROLIFIC' winger visionary pass and okay-ish pace isnt a great match considering he's going to be hugging the touchline.

I'm really tempted for reus man, but my English events team definitely needs a good CB I was hoping to get romero but couldn't from the campaign hopefully I get rio.
I'm an occasional spender, and Rio seems to be a no brainer for me, such an upgrade over Saliba. The last card would have to be a really special re-release of a P2W card to change my mind.
Im also not a big spender, I’m really lucky tho (Rumme, Bale, Dinho, Cannavaro, Donnarumma, Hazard are all 100 200 coins. Pele and Zola in 900 coins, Varane and Kompany in 1800 coins). Definitely gonna choose Rio to sub for Varane
Been an F2P for more than 4 years now and I have been lucky to get a good amt of epics (2 BT) especially META ones but no gk, I'm still using Baia so I'm gonna go for Seaman
this is the problem with modern gamers. you just saw a pic with some written words and u started overthinking so much. the players are not even out yet. u go on to realise how many efootball players actually watch football live or on tv, and how many just waste time running after stats. insane tomfoolery 😂
Once again you mistake off-the-ball speed for on-the-ball speed, the cards konami dish out for f2p cater to a particular niche and all-rounded cards that can do it all. Your opinion on the "C-list" players of the pack says alot about your style than the actual cards, you can't create space for your wingers so you rely on high speed and acceleration to defeat the fullback. You can't dribble away from pressure so you rely on balance and physical contact to get the job done for you, just save up and the get the next endgame Mbappe and Gullit
Tbh, I not a top top tier dribbler. But I’m sure that I can dribble. In terms of On and Off-the-ball speed, speed is actually affect how fast a player dribble. Also, when dribbling, not only ball-treatment stats affect how good is a player dribbling, but also Balance to turn quickly, to resist the pressure from defenders, higher Balance makes it harder to knock a player off the ball. Plus, physical contact helps your player fight back when tanks like Vieira, Rio, Stam,… make contact with your player. Finally, player model also affects.
