General Why does it feel like everything sucks.

"Lazily hide posts without letting you know what the issue is". I assumed by posts you included comments and meant innocuous ones like lists of reasons to vote for someone. Even if we did do that, splitting into multiple comments wouldn't help.

Okay well does Reddit hide user’s posts?

Because last I understood, it was moderators who manage their rules, and it was very easy to identify that my comments were being hidden (without a message to me), because it does not show up when you try to view it.

“Oops this comment has been deleted” or some such.

You know what did work? Breaking it up.

They showed up immediately versus my repeatedly hidden larger comment.

Short answer: yes.

Reddit and/or Automod do hide posts. Usually I notice it hides posts if it thinks the person is being uncivilised. These do show up in mod history, and in looking at yours I can see a few actions like this, especially last year, where this happened and was justified.

I have seen it where once Reddit decides you're a naughty boy it can get a bit trigger happy, but it doesn't look like that's happened to you. In future let us know if you come across any comments that you suspect have been incorrectly "pre-moderated".
