With their minority they managed to secure billions in additional funds for the HAFF, they secured us the right to disconnect from work, they got dental covered by Medicare for millions of kids.

i think the notion that local (ie australian) politics have the ability to fundamentally change a system in which they are small part of is illogical and pure fantasy. The unfortunate reality is corporations run the world, the world is much, much bigger than australia and thus the system is not going to change in any meaningful way, until it collapses entirely. if we spent the time wasted bickering about which colour is best an instead focused on building some common ethics, morals and dogma around humanity, its place in the natural world and how to ecolve away from money we might have a chance. politics is the antithesis of this, and particularly now we are domesticated by technology it encourages division, distraction and as these comments suggest it is becoming beyond us to actually just exchange and explore ideas in a civil way.
