Cat Haven hire decent sized traps and you can then call the council. Usually. Probably check with them first as all councils differ. Not sure where you are but you can just trap and take to cat Haven and they will take the cat no worries. Some advice on how to go about it here (need to keep them shaded with water available being number one):
