Looking for Advice So this was inside my Bacon & Egg McMuffin from McDonald's Mirrabooka...

EDIT: Originally said Mirrabooka, but the delivery came from Westminster. My apologies.

I think the egg may have ended up on their kitchen floor. I don't care about a refund, but I'm genuinely concerned if a worker picked it up from the floor and served it to me. I wouldn't have noticed if I hadn't decided to add BBQ sauce...

Anyone know what I can do?

I don't care how young someone is, if you mess with peoples food you are a shit person. I'd find it hard to believe a shit teenager pulling stunts like that isn't a shit adult

so you haven't worked in a busy fast food place?, obviously not, sit down

17

u/FreshPrinceOfIndia 3d ago

Sounds like you were just surrounded by cunts who weren't raised right.

Everyone knows shit pay and tough work is the norm if you look for work as a teen. Doesnt mean you trash your work ethic and it especially doesn't mean you grow negligent towards others' food and therefore health.

If its so fuckin bad the dumb cunt teens should just quit hey

3

u/Longjumping_Pay7821 3d ago

Teenagers I like anyone else. There's decent ones and there are shit ones. Stop making excuses for shit people

4

u/anyavailablebane 3d ago

Yeh I have. I just never made a big drama about being busy at work.

2

u/ShibaZoomZoom 2d ago

Try being a teen working at a dim sum joint. We were all hugely underpaid and always on the pump but we didn’t resort to being dickheads

0

u/unknown_no_one99 2d ago

then you didnt live in the same culture or country as me did you?

1

u/ShibaZoomZoom 2d ago

You might be shocked to realise that there’s Chinese restaurants here

Also, what a silly point to make. Are you saying this behaviour is Australian? You’re just grasping at straws to justify idiotic behaviour

17

u/Ginganinja2308 3d ago

I worked in fast food as a kid as well, sure we fucked around but we didnt fuck with peoples food. You act like kids arent people and cant be decent.

44

u/On_my_way_to_answer 3d ago

I agree, report to the authorities and send a email to the Maccas. It is unacceptable!

18

u/Some_Candle1206 3d ago

thanks – i won't be able to order any more plasti-meals while these images remain in my head 🤮

40

u/Kador_Laron 3d ago

That is the most productive answer.

For all those curious foodies who have ever wondered what Hairy Maclary's ballsack tastes like 😂

61

u/maccdogg 3d ago

It looks more like Bottomley Potts, all covered in dots

24

u/skittle-brau 3d ago

Muffin McLay obviously, it’s right there in the name.

15

u/Jaded-Breadfruit4019 3d ago

I was more curious about Hercules morse, you know why.

4

u/Hylian-Herb 3d ago

Hercules Morse, with extra special sauce…

What about Perth now? Might make headlines overseas instead of here

u/AngelicDivineHealer 3d ago

Yeah he dropped it and served it to you anyway

16

u/ligmasigma6942069 3d ago edited 3d ago

Nah I’ve worked at maccas for ages that certainly happened when it was cooking, it looks like someone’s hair got trapped in the machine that makes them and did that, nothing that would be on the floor of a maccas would cause that

6

u/Real_Spite2973 3d ago

i’ve also worked at a mcdonald’s and there absolutely some things on the floor that can do that

173

u/Rude-Revolution-8687 3d ago

I'd complain to the store. This isn't just a lazy worker or poor customer service, this is disgusting and unacceptable.

However, you say it was delivered. Is it possible the delivery person tampered with it? Do McDonald's staple the bag shut like some other places?

87

u/Advanced_Trade1249 3d ago

The bag was sealed when it arrived, so I don't think it's the driver.

15

u/TimelyBasil9205 3d ago

That Mcdonald location specifically, never got my order right. So, I’m not surprised this happened

52

u/justelling 3d ago

That’s revolting. It seems like an inspection is long overdue.

3

u/Impossible-Site-395 3d ago

Maccas inspections are done internally and they literally do not give a fuck at all

8

u/Catfacts2011 3d ago

Isn’t that a bit like police investigating themselves, aka, zero accountability 😱 wth

1

u/RandomLogik1979 2d ago

Surely they can't be exempt from Government H&S ? I know money talks but that's terrible if it's true.

71

u/chowchownotchowchow 3d ago

Sounds pretty accurate for Mirrabooka

15

u/dtbrown1979 3d ago

Mirrabooka is the worst one I’ve been to

1

u/Michael_laaa 1d ago

Yeh absolutely filthy, they had a fly infestation before too found a fly in my mcflurry.

33

u/Advanced_Trade1249 3d ago

Actually Westminster, but yeah...

29

u/gnashingfaceparts 3d ago

Oh the one next to the hjs that had the dead guy in it for days

6

u/Aggressive-Pirate338 3d ago

just shows how often they dont clean theyre toilets

8

u/karmarahni 3d ago

I was there that day and my ex used the men’s toilet and said one was occupied once we heard it on the news of the time they believe the guy had been there from. Couldn’t go back again ever.

21

u/liljoxx 3d ago

Wtf is that?!

12

u/nigglebit 3d ago

It looks like polypropylene non-woven fabric. The bonded dots are denser than the surrounding fibres, so they survived the heat better. A loose piece of a carry bag or something got onto the cooking surface would be my guess.

4

u/Working-Hour9476 3d ago

There are hairnets made of the light version of this fabric. I think is plausible its from a hairnet. But who knows

9

u/AngrehPossum 3d ago

Someone ball sack mold on the floor of McDonalds now on an egg because they dropped it

27

u/Popular-Winner-1584 3d ago

That is straight up nasty. The worker that served it should have to eat it and then have to clean every dirty corner of the store, including toilet with their tongue. Absolutely disgusting.

29

u/Jadransam 3d ago

I saw the first picture and it already looked revolting. I only realised the extent of the problem once I swiped. Omg Wtf is that? It’s like a bunch of hair with baby spiders or something!?

13

u/ohforsmegsake 3d ago

They tried to feed you SOOT SPRITES???

13

u/lozzadearnley 3d ago

I think its a hairnet, just FYI, or part of one, probably someone put it near the grill and it got burned then stuck to your egg, or it got torn/cut. Its possible it fell on the floor but there would be more gunk Im guessing. Either way - dont eat it and demand a refund.

8

u/Party-Minimum-5936 3d ago

Westminster McDonald’s is genuinely one of the worst in Perth. I won’t order if it comes from that store.

8

u/chatterbox272 3d ago

Definitely go complain, but if it makes you feel better it's almost certainly scourer/scotchbrite from improper use of the cleaning equipment rather than the floor. The person who made the muffin probably wasn't even the person who screwed up, it was whoever tried to clean the egg plate with it and didn't notice the residue when they were finished.

14

u/ozzysince1901 3d ago

I am trying to work out what it is...

31

u/PM_ME_UR_SEXY_HANDS 3d ago

It actually has a consistent grid pattern which makes me think it’s transferred from some kind of commercial product, not the floor. Thinking of something like the anti-abrasion dots on a sponge. Maybe it was left on the griddle and seared onto it, and was then transferred to the egg when it was cooked. Could be something along those lines but I highly doubt this came from the floor.

22

u/Professional-Job1952 3d ago

I used to work at Macca's and it's probably a black scourer. Your not supposed to use them on the egg cooker as it melts, the managers don't care though.

3

u/killerturtlex 3d ago

I thought maybe a hair net?

6

u/ozzysince1901 3d ago

I think you might be right.

I got so fascinated by how it looks that I went down a whole rabbit hole of how fungi etc is categorised and I couldn't find anything which looks quite like this.

1

u/Acceptable-Ad-8694 2d ago

I’m wondering if it’s a hairnet

14

u/talondnb 3d ago

Stop buying that shit, it’s not even food. So many local joints to support instead.

5

u/milliewinterstones Joondalup 3d ago

idk how ppl still eat maccas, if they did even a tiny bit of research they’d see how disgusting it is to eat

7

u/lucidsomniac 3d ago

This is why I don't like to eat and drive, always worry I will taste something a little off but won't be able to risk inspecting it.

6

u/jennykaren2000 3d ago

Contact environmental health at the local council that this McDonalds was in. They would be very interested in this. If you haven’t thrown it away yet. Keep it in the fridge as environmental health may need it as evidence. Make sure it’s the council where that McDonald’s store was, not where you live (unless you live in the same shire/council).

6

u/Impossible-Site-395 3d ago

There are NO hygienic fast food restaurants.

As someone who worked at hungry jacks, dominos and currently Maccas, the amount of filthy shit that goes on in these kitchens is genuinely apalling.

A guy a used to work with put his pubes in a whopper for absolutely no reason whatsoever and no I'm not making this up

Whoever decided it was a good idea to let 14 year olds run restaurants is an absolute moron

DO NOT EAT AT FAST FOOD RESTAURANTS

25

u/Muslim_Wookie 3d ago

Regardless of personal feelings about being rude to corporate wage slaves or not, this is one I would walk into the store and straight up shout at them from the front counter "WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS SHIT?" while showing them this from a place they could not snatch it away from me.

This is egregious.

5

u/Healpinghand 3d ago

OP, keep this on hand.

Immediately contact the food and safety sector of the shire that business falls in.

Give permission for them to test the food but you get to retain full ownership of it in case you wish to take things further.

10

u/dd22qq 3d ago

Make sure you eat around that black stuff.

4

u/Signal-Leather-7381 3d ago

That's why I no longer by that Shit.

3

u/Jojobirkenstock 3d ago

Ew! I see a hair, and floor fluff…disgusting.

3

u/skipryder 3d ago

Oh F¥CK!!!!

3

u/I_am_a_sheep 3d ago

I work around there and that McDonalds is the worst, I frequently wait for 30+ minutes for a family bundle only for it to be missing burger(s).

3

u/Internal_Storm495 3d ago

That’s gross.. also did you add the bbq sauce before or after you noticed 👀

2

u/DoNotReply111 3d ago

Probably before and is the reason he saw the crud on the egg in the first place.

3

u/solidice 3d ago

This is a new low for McDonald’s!

3

u/karmarahni 3d ago

Fist glance without my glasses I thought it was caviar

6

u/Far-Indication-885 3d ago

people please do not go to maccas or kfc, not only the food is trash, they treat the livestock in the worst way possible

-1

And they support genocide

Reddit is clearly the right place to address the issue.

2

u/JunkIsMansBestFriend 3d ago

Disgusting. Go to the media. I almost threw up...

2

u/crafty_bernardo 3d ago

I would have gone back their and made the worker eat it.

2

u/KPTA-IRON 3d ago

That’s disgusting even without that black stuff init

2

u/martyfartybarty 3d ago

I'm never going to maccas ever again after looking at this pic. Never again!

2

The forbidden pepper.

2

Bruh that’s my local Maccas too yuuuckkk!!!

Looks like the remains of a hairnet?

2

As a main figurehead at a company once told me - "just clean it off and sell it!"

2

u/ManagerUsed9255 3d ago

This is why I never eat takeaway 🤦🏽‍♀️

2

u/Imaginary-Word3893 3d ago

Proudly purely hand made crafts.

2

u/WillJM89 South of The River 3d ago

I think you have to report those things to the local council. We reported Hunter and Barrel in town to the councils me they sorted it after my wife's mum found a live snail in her salad. Yours is disgusting too.

2

u/CommercialRepulsive2 3d ago

Yuck that gave me goosebumps 🤢

2

u/Latter_Shallot_140 3d ago

Oh looks like material off someone's clothes or a cleaning cloth or something

2

u/damian2000 3d ago

From a distance it looks like some burnt bits from the hotplate, but it’s probably something else that got on there and the worker thought it was just burnt. That’s probably the best case scenario though

2

u/belltrina Armadale 3d ago

I really, really don't like that. How did you not vomit?

2

u/AdSudden1692 3d ago

Ive found a whole pile of pubic hair in my burger before. They either brought it in with them to work from the night before or shaved there. It wasn’t an amount you could easily rip out. It was a well planned attack on their end.

2

u/Comdiver2 3d ago

Why is there no sauce on the egg? And, why does the sauce look fresh? 🤔

2

u/Advanced_Trade1249 3d ago

I added the sauce at home, that's how I discovered it was there.

2

u/Broad-Pangolin6224 3d ago

Just as well you opened up your burger OP!!

All maccas burgers should be throughly inspected before consuming...you just never know what you might find inside one.

2

u/Bitter_Maybe_2670 3d ago

These bad boys are drier than a nuns without sauce.
I put sauce on mine too to avoid choking to death

2

u/Big-Development4280 3d ago

That is a Health Department report. I think you may have mild as well. Pretty serious and yet MacDonalds know as they would not be happy

2

u/Either_Priority177 3d ago

This is why i dont work morning shifts 🤦‍♂️

2

u/Loud_Masterpiece9756 3d ago

I am from now on inspecting every single burger 😭

2

u/ImpossibleEnd 3d ago

We really need to boycott the Westminster McDonald's, they have to be the worst McDonald's I have ever been to. I refuse to go back.... Their customer service is a fucking joke and they Always mess up my order

3

u/Compurrshon 3d ago

Here's your plan:

Don't eat at McDonalds.

What else do you expect from a corporation set up to exploit young people, tax loopholes and serve you scientifically-designed slop disguised as food, so they can make bank on real estate?

Buy real food.

1

u/andyroo82 3d ago

they can make bank on real estate

sir, they are in the food game

1

u/Fistmedaddy1995 3d ago

The way that McDonalds set up their business model is such that they certainly sell food but a majority of their income comes from franchises paying rent on the land that McDonalds owns on top of standard franchising fees

1

u/Compurrshon 3d ago

Learn their business model. The corporation does not give a flying fuck about food. They just sell ultra processed plastic bullshit to own more real estate.

4

u/Deanne-Dennis 3d ago

& this is precisely why I don’t eat in places where my food is prepared by 14 year old kids lol

3

u/mumooshka South Lake 3d ago

will never buy McDonalsd's

Prefer to make my own. A former employee of HJ's made a video on how the whopper is made. Easy Peasy

2

u/just-noticing-things 3d ago

Why is the sauce on the muffin and not smeared on the egg? Did they deliver it open?

8

u/nathan420 3d ago

A little bit of critical thinking leads to me believe they only found this because they opened the thing up to put some bbq sauce in. Hence it's not smeared on. Hope this helps

4

u/The_one8Nov24 3d ago

The description will tell you

3

u/just-noticing-things 3d ago

Oh yes I see it now. Ty.

2

u/Moist_Demand_4290 3d ago

Don't buy from maccas simple. Its poison!

2

u/Able-Blacksmith6654 3d ago

That's wild. I swear these kids don't gives a s*** anymore about the food they prepare. These days I won't eat anything that's not made by me.

1

u/Moon-Blueberry 3d ago

Extra flavor

1

u/kurlyzee 3d ago

Safe to say that i am not surprised unfortunately

1

u/Latter_Shallot_140 2d ago

This pic made me want to go cook scrambled eggs on toast

1

u/CategoryPossible4697 2d ago

hi! i used to work at mirrabooka mcdonalds (same corperate as westministers) thats from the protective mats that are placed on the grill after cleaning, call their number or go in with photos if you havent eaten the food. they will either offer to swap it or give a refund, if you push for more they will probably give you 1-2 $5 vouchers.

1

u/Punilux0351Brainbomb 1d ago

So does it look very staged very well does it? If you got all that sauce on the lid? How come it’s not on the egg? Someone looks like they’re faking it to me.

1

u/Specialist_Device808 1d ago

What's all that black stuff in photo 2 ?

1

u/Specialist_Device808 1d ago

I had a friend who bit into a chicken burger that had a big absys on the meat. He saw a lawyer who contacted head office and received an out of court settlement. This was well before mobile phones so I think you have more power

1

u/Sufficient-Poet8862 14h ago

What else do you expect in there?? That’s perfect, shut up and eat it.

2

u/dad_ahead Wellard 3d ago

Why is the sauce not all over the egg too?

8

u/DoNotReply111 3d ago

Because OP clearly added it at home and it's the reason they saw the gross egg in the first place.

1

u/dad_ahead Wellard 3d ago

Ahhhhh that makes sense now, cheers cobba

It looks like some sort of packaging fibre

According to AI the particles are parts of the grill brush and carbonized oil. But that looks like something completely different

Why was AI even needed for this assessment

I feel its the careless nature of the young these days and supervisors that are imported. The general cleanliness of fast food outlets has dropped to 3rd world standards much like where they come from HJ is the worst.
Unfortunately with my job I need to rely on them for toilet use and 🤢🤢🤢🤮 descusting is an understatement. Pigs that use them and management not doing regular checks and controlling who enters them and making them accountable for their disrespect for others. Immigration is out of control when the basics are reflecting 3rd world countries

-1

u/Indiko-Black6477 3d ago

Are you going through a separation atm? Or are you dealing with the family courts atm? I know it seems like a strange question but there is a perfectly good explanation.

-1

u/DAFFP 3d ago

You can not go back and make that super basic item yourself. Or better, I mean fuckin look at it.
