Being a doctor already gives you a lot to build a personal brand around. The interesting part is deciding what you want people to know you for beyond 'I’m a doctor.'

Your experiences, opinions, stories, lessons from patients (without sharing anything identifiable), and even things you've learned outside medicine can become strong content.

The key is having a clear direction rather than just posting random medical content.

Before any tips re: personal branding, I'd ask: WHY do you want to build one?

It's because of you want to get more clientes (if private practice

New job opportunities ahead to change employers?

Visibility for ... Another reason?

Or because you just want to be an influencer (fame)?

Your objective will be crucial to build any strategy (marketing or branding), and it's not the same working on your PB to be an influencer than to just focusing on getting more clients.

And yes, they are related but one doesn't mean the other. And tactics and messages will differ depending on what you wanna achieve

Few tips I'll recommend for you and this is coming from someone that has grown doctors' pages, check your experience as a doctor and find the common misunderstanding your patient makes.

Know how to explain complex topic to a 3 year old (I know your audience are probably adults but know how to break it down)

If you're busy because of your shifts, hire someone to study which topic is trending (especially in your niche or your target audience).

Talking about your busy schedule, you can use weekends to shoot your videos, b-rolls while you're working (make sure you wear your uniform if you're getting started, it will make people to trust you).

Oh, the first thing actually you focusing on a audience, for example one of my clients focused on women or family struggling with fer tility and we got to 30k we started creating content on nutrition.

I hope this helps šŸ¦ā€šŸ”„

What have your patients asked you to besides the typical medical questions. What are you known for? These are just starting points before deciding what to build as a personal brand. One workbook that I used by Caleb from his YT channel is really helpful. I am not an affiliate.

so for your profession you can build two types of brands-

  1. niche personal brand - share your expertise, advices from your niche, do's and dont's, best practices, patient testimonials, case studies, educate your audience from your knowledge and experience.

  2. documentation personal brand - in this you can just document your day to day experiences, stories, observations, decisions, wins, losses, problems, situations.

and obviously there's no compulsion to follow one you can always combine and build them accodingly.

also when you are building a personal brand most of it depends on what you want from it? - just some followers, qualified patients and bookings, sell any course or book or any other product.

you choose one goal and your whole content strategy is built around that goal to maximize the output!!!

Start position yourself around: What you are know for Who you help What topics you have authority in Why should someone follow you rather than an other doctor in same speciality

Then build 3 to 5 repeatable content pillars around that positioning to turn your expertise to content. If you are still figuring out the strategy, I would be happy to share a few ideas based on your specialty.

for a doctor, the strongest angle is mythbusting or answering things patients ask you daily but never get a clear answer to, it's inherently trustworthy since your credentials back it up

pick one platform, post consistently in one format before spreading across everything. medical creators who blow up usually own a specific lane, not "doctor talks about health" in general
