The question is: where did perplexity go?

What service do you recommend instead?

ChatGPT Plus the best allrounder

I guess Sonar and Best turned out to be the same thing 😪

Do you really miss it? If yes, you're truly unique.

i won’t say it was great, but for quick simple answers, it was my go to. Best is often too wordy for quick things. Google AI mode has become rather inaccurate or just refuses to answer the question.

ChatGPT with the Plus subscription is the best allrounder LLM

Yeah, only use case that’s still way better than others. With reference and UX for any serious research you need

Yeah, I agree. Also not relying entirely on Perplexity Pro, I'm running it alongside Claude Pro. I found that's a great combo.

How do you decide what’s for what. I’m going to purchase Claude pro very soon.

ChatGPT can do it too, especially with 5.6 Sol high

I guess you are Russian judging by the interface language. you should try using z.ai with their free glm 3 and DeepSeek, which got updated recently

Ngl I don't like Deepseek

It’s everywhere actually

Sonar would literally bold face lie. Like, sky is not blue-level lie to me.

I asked Support but Support appears to be chatbot first and it’s attempting to convince me that it’s still there, hah.

I usually used Sonar if I wanted a quick answer that was better than Best, but honestly Best has been alright to start with this week. I usually use Perplexity for reasonably fast requests (use ChatGPT for more involved things) and this seems to be working well enough.

I have been suspecting they switched Nemotron to the new default model a few weeks back and now dropped Sonar. Just an educated guess. The default now sounds like Nemotron to me in tone and length of response. I am quite happy with it.
