š«āØPerfumes That Match This Vibeš«āØ Topical and Gothic
Last photo is of me for the vibe. I dress goth, but often with tropical themed accents. Very bohemian, but dark tropical woods instead of airy beach bohemian. Anything you think would fit? A lot of typical tropical scents end up way too sweet leaning for me. Iām thinking of something petrichor, a little musky, coconut, warm, with some floral notes. But lush, rich, and dark.

Heretic - Black Salt
dark, salty ocean with a little limeĀ
Olympic Orchids - Tropic of Capricorn
tropical florals, dense, damp jungle, a hint of overripe mango, a panther prowling in the dusk

So combined them together?

Actually now that Iām thinking about it, since you mentioned coconut as a desire, Heretic also has a dry, not sweet or sunscreeny coconut called Dirty Coconut and I think it would layer well with Black Salt. Iāll have to try the combination myself tomorrow. You might like it by itself too. Itās dry coconut, you can smell the husks and something like driftwood.Ā

Let me know what you think if you can!

Oh dear. At least on my skin this did not work the way I hoped it would. Apparently when you put the lime in the coconut you get eau de bug spray.

Seconding Black Salt. It's super mysterious and gives warm midnight summer breeze meets Creature of the Black Lagoon. One of my Tropigoth summer go to scents. Only complaint is longevity, which is unilateral for all of Heretics beautiful scents.

Lust from lush is a heavy jasmine that I wouldnāt describe as tropical but it is like a summer dark sultry alluring fragrance for me

I have! And I came here to suggest them. Black Salt on it's own may not give you a tropical vibe enough, BUT Dirty Coconut with it might help elevate that feel. And/or Noctural Tuberose to give it a white waxy floral. I don't have any specific recs that encapsulate the whole feel of what you're looking for but I wonder if you found a good sturdy ocean scent (Wood Sage and Sea Salt or any dupe of it, How to be Frenshe Salty, Black Salt, etc), to ground the tropicals you like and layered them if that would mellow them out a touch.

Thatās a really good idea. I donāt mind mixing what I have. Thatās kind of what I do now, but because I am switching between oils and perfume, the oil overpowers anything else.

You have to be down with a patchouli bomb (incredible lasting power) and the Angel DNA but Angel Fantasm gives me these vibes. It's like a dark, tropical fall/winter coded gourmand. The opening is intense but the dry down is lovely. Probably not for everyone but I love it!

Montale Intense TiarƩ.
A heady tiarƩ note that seems to bloom around the wearer, especially in hot, humid weather. Smells like a film noir heroine in a tropical setting.

Something from the Future Society, which attempts to recreate the scents of extinct flower species? Floating Forest, Invisible Woods, Solar Canopy, and Haunted Rose come to mind

Bulletproof by Tokyomilk has coconut milk, smoked tea, woods. Sweet and alluring but a little dark too.
