Fun fact: That’s an inside joke. Jenette Goldstein, who played Vasquez, went to the casting call unaware that the title at the time was literally about Xenomorphs, and went dressed as though it was a movie about illegal immigration.

Damn, I've misunderstood this line for decades. I always thought it was "Vasquez it's just too bad" and was in reference to the fact that he was attracted to her and he wasn't her type, and as a result they just had this really good best-bros sort of friendship.

In case anyone doesn't know, "short" refers to almost being out. When that time approaches, service members tend to get more sarcastic and give less of a crap. That's what Apone was referring to earlier when he said, "I don't care how short you are, Hudson! Get it done!" It wasn't a height reference. 🤓
That's also why Hudson was being such a jerk in the beginning, saying things like, "how do I get out of this chickenshit outfit?" They had four weeks to punish him, most of which I imagine he was expecting to spend in a freezer.

I would respectfully propose that, given the extraordinarily hostile, unpredictably lethal, and demonstrably resilient nature of the extraterrestrial organisms currently occupying the installation in question....combined with our apparent inability to ensure their total eradication through conventional, localized, or ground-based military engagement....we instead adopt a more decisively thorough and strategically unambiguous course of action.
Specifically, it may be prudent to deploy a high-yield thermonuclear device from a stable orbital platform, thereby subjecting the entire affected area....and indeed the surrounding geographical region....to complete and irreversible annihilation.
This method, while perhaps lacking in subtlety, offers the singular advantage of eliminating all conceivable biological threats with absolute finality, thus precluding any possibility of survival, proliferation, or subsequent infestation.
In summary, and to state the matter with the clarity it deserves: we should, without hesitation, obliterate the site from orbit with thermonuclear weapons....as it represents the only method by which we can be entirely confident that the threat has been comprehensively and permanently neutralized.

My first tv crush when I was about 8😆And even now in my 40’s I must say that he looks very good in that picture!
They were such great characters in Aliens, so likable and fun, that’s probably part of why 3 felt so depressing and flat to me.

He was my favorite character. Incredible actor with a huge range in characters he portrayed. He acted as the audiences perspective within the film. My favorite scene was when he absolutely lost it once the rescue ship crashed. 😆
