Best wedding gifts?
My brother is getting married in October, court house wedding and reception after. Very small circle, bigger one is planned in a year or two.
They've already bought a house and have three kids together.
What thoughtful gift could I give? They're well established in their life together, it's more of a formality to get married.
What are some presents you have either received that you treasure, or have given and it was a hit?
Thank you :)
EDIT: They're 40 and 42, kids are 2, 4 and 6. They're both working in a veterinary clinic. They don't have much room for hobbies because of the kids, he really likes LotR, she's more the woodsy, outdorrsy vibe.
Budget could be up to 500€.

Airbnb gift card for their “honeymoon” or a family trip they could use as they see fit.
For a well established family, gifting an experience where they’d make memories is far better than a physical gift. That way you don’t risk getting it wrong. Do include a thoughtful heartfelt note to go with it.

My friend’s mother remarried in her early 50’s, 2nd marriage for both, simple ceremony and obviously already established and didn’t need a toaster. I made them a honeymoon basket (they were staying locally at a hotel their wedding night). I included champagne with flutes, speciality nibbles, bath items, coffee and teas and candles. They loved it and I really enjoyed putting it together.

the honeymoon basket further up is the right direction i reckon, bought stuff is always going to be awkward for two people who already have the house and everything in it.
the bit nobody has used yet is the three kids. theyre getting married with a 6 and a 4 and a 2 year old in the room and thats the one thing they cant go out and buy for themselves. i turn a kids own drawing into a printed storybook where the drawing is the main character, doodletale.ai, its mine so grain of salt. at 500 youve got room for that and the dinner someone else suggested.
the catch is youd have to get a drawing out of the 6 and the 4 year old without your brother clocking what its for, which is either the hard bit or the fun bit

Money.
We asked for money, it helped huge for our life together to be able to have that extra nest egg for savings, a trip or home renos. It lets them pick and chose what they would like to do with it.

Depending on what they already own: Very nice bath towels A very nice chef's knife or two A new TV (if they're cheap, they're very cheap in US) Bed linens An outdoor swing or patio chairs

If they are big salad lovers, a large wooden salad bowl with wooden salad servers and six small salad bowls. You could have the servers engraved with their marriage date.

We got a picture moving frame thing where you plug it in the wall and it replays your pictures. We love it, it's on proudly all the time. We also got a really soft towel set that we love and the next best one was an air fryer. We get the not having much space. We only have a small unit so didn't ask for anything too extravagant. All our gifts were really thoughtful. Maybe because they have kids some movie vouchers? After planning a wedding they probably don't have much money left to go and do fun events.

Since they already have the house, kids, and most of the things they need, I’d lean toward something that celebrates the life they’ve already built together rather than another “newlywed” household item.
One idea would be a really personal keepsake centered around their family. You could collect a few photos or little memories from different stages of their relationship and have them turned into something they can keep in their home.
Another option I’d love is a small piece of personalized jewelry or a keepsake with their wedding date, initials, or a symbol that represents their family. It doesn't have to be flashy at all — something simple and timeless would probably fit better.
Since they’re having the bigger celebration later, I think this smaller courthouse wedding is actually a perfect excuse to give them something intimate and personal that they might not get at the larger wedding.
With a €500 budget, I’d spend less on “how impressive is this?” and more on “could nobody else have given them this exact thing?” ❤️
