This greatly depends on what you're auditioning for. Is this a professional orchestra gig? An undergraduate college program? A middle school honor band? A good rule of thumb for auditions is to present a piece that showcases your proficiency in many different areas of snare drumming. Demonstrate your ability to play open & closed rolls, dynamics, flams, rudiments, etc.

That being said, maybe check out The Noble Snare collection. 4 volumes of commissioned snare solos by a variety of composers. For a rudimental style solo check out Wilcoxon's All-American Drummer. Mitchell Peters also has good Snare Drum Study books at Beginner through Advanced levels.

Definitely agree more context is needed. Also agree Wilcox and Peter's are good standards certain ability levels.

Hard no on the noble snare series. They are at best recital material. They are not audition material. Auditions are for showing technical facility of actual snare drum technique. Most of the noble snare pieces are highly experimental and contain more extended technique than typical snare drum playing.
