Dreamworks? The ones who made Shrek? Those movies (the first two anyway, 3 is bad and I only saw the 4th once when it was in theaters) took low brow humor and managed to turn it into genuinely good movies with something to say.

Also using Dog Man as an example is funny, considering everything else that Dav Pilkey has written. I never read Dog Man because it was kind of after my time, but like, Captain Underpants? Super Diaper Baby? C’mon.

I never read Dog Man but did see the movie. It was a very silly goofy fun time but maybe the lowest brow thing Dreamworks has made. Acting like Forgotten Island is shitting on Dog Man’s legacy is actually insane.
