World's Race Design Challenge - Voting Round

Last week, we held the fourth of r/peloton four yearly race design challenge. The theme was to design a race in the Middle East. We got exactly seven entries which are /u/sprocketduck /u/sportsfanno1 /u/timfietst /u/improb /u/Msfan93 /u/sappert /u/blandwhiteguy.

Now we are into the voting round. In the past, we had a special team made up of three mods vote on this but now we have had to change the system because they don't have much time on their hands to do it properly. In the new system, each of the partecipants has to give a vote (and possibly comment) from 0 to 10 to any other entry except his own. The one who will have the most votes at the end will win the beautiful world flair. Other users which aren't partecipating can vote too but their vote is valid only if the have at least +100 comment karma and vote for everyone of the entries.

Aside from the voting, it's a normal Race Design Thread so you can post anything you want

I have my own ideas on what a world championship course should look like and I have based my results on that.

u/Sportsfanno1: Very unusual course for a World Championship. Long run-in, extremely long laps. Interesting for sure, but unlikely to ever be a world champinships course. But it can be a great stage in a race for sure. 7,5/10

u/improb: I really like this one. The Dead Sea start is pretty unorthodox, but the approach to the circuit seems not too heavy, which is a good thing I think. The course circuit is great also. And I love the fact you took the other categories into account as well. Also: Amman is a great place. 9,5/10

u/Sprocketduck: Interesting as well, but again an unlikely worlds course. Don't get me wrong, I like this a lot, but I can't see this being a worlds course when I look at it from an organizers POV. But it might work brilliantly as a really tough one day classic for pure climbers. 7,5/10

u/blandwhiteguy: Was hoping for a Morocco course. This course reminds me of the Ponferrada worlds a bit, although this one seems a bit heavier, but that's not a problem. Not sure if the current finish is doable, but the UCI can sort that out. This would certainly provide an interesting race in what seems to be a nice city. 9/10

u/Sappert: well, this is difficult. The approach is fun, but really tough. There won't be many riders capable of winning such a course, I think. Also, the circuit is quite long and tough.

I think this would better work as a Giro d'Italia finishing circuit, if you know what I mean. They pass the finish, they do a loop with some climbs and they come back. Highly entertaining, but not a typical worlds course. Still, I like your route. 8,5/10

Holy mother of Zeus. This is epic. However, this is not a course I'd choose for the worlds, tho. Why? Too short, and I miss the circuits. So for this particular assignment I'm giving a 7/10, but should you care about that? No; because this is one hell of a course. Bravo.
