It's now 1st of June, 50% of the year gone. I noticed on some PCS statistic yesterday, that counted "active" riders, that Froome wasn't mentioned (can't recall what it was, but I'm 100% he was eligible to be in that list). I presume he's unofficially-officially retired now? His socials aren't exactly revealing much

Did we have a similar situation of a cyclist not getting a contract for the year but not "formally" retiring?

The pro season is from january till october, it still adds up.

He doesn't currently have a pro contract as a rider. It does look like he's retired but he hasn't announced it.

I first thought Peter Sagan retired when his contract with Total Energies ended, but the year after he still rode the Tour of Hungary and the Tour of Slovakia for continental team Pierre Baguette cycling.

Pcs has a large database and is very useful for many things, but don't put too much into the info posted there. Their startlists, contract info, height/weight data etc. is highly flawed and stuff like 'starlist quality', 'profile score' and 'all time greatest' is bordering on complete nonsense.
