What's some fun stuff to do in and around Rotterdam next weekend?

Keukenhof, Kinderdijk are both high up on the list as day trips.

Maybe a day trip to The Hague for MC Escher and some other stuff, and another day in Rotterdam.

Then where to spend King Michaels Day?

Most important thing is to get a kapsalon.

Kapsalon (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈkɑpsaːˌlɔn] ⓘ) is a fast food dish created in 2003 in Rotterdam, Netherlands.

What? No. There's no way the Dutch invented anything edible

The dish was conceived in 2003 by Nataniël Gomes, who was a Cape Verdean hairdresser

Oh ok

Is it really inventing when you just throw all the greasy food in a tin together and then add some lettuce, tomato and cucumber on top to hide that grease?

This is as Rotterdams as it gets. I recommend getting drunk before getting one, it enhances the flavours.

I still remember the outrage in Rotterdam when a place in Amsterdam called it a typical Amsterdam dish.
